And it snowed and snowed

This is bunches of asters that I left standing in th front garden. They look like mushrooms now. I shoveled the sidewalk and porch 3 times. The snow was blowing off the roof too so I don't know if the 3-4" I shoveled the last time was from snow fall or drifting. It finally stopped around 4 p.m. I walked around to the back yard to fill the bird feeders and we have about 7-8" back there. More snow coming Monday night and Wednesday. I switched gears again. I told you I have a short attention span. I sewed the binding on this one that I quilted last Saturday. Someday I am going to learn how to pin it up straight on the design wall.
I didn't have quite enough of the same fabric as the first border to use as binding so I used another print by the same company the same year. It is just a little lighter but looks good.
I folded it so you can see what I put on the back of the quilt. I got both of these fabrics on sale and didn't have enough of either so I pieced them together in random width panels.
I'm looking forward to a day without shoveling. I hope it happens.

Ooo, those are my colors! And I love that back almost as much as the front.

Hoping you have a shovel-free day!

The binding is a good match and the back is gorgeous

You give even the simplest designs such depth with your fabric choices! I like this one, and I like pieced backs.
You're getting quite a workout with all that shoveling! I hope you don't get much more snow.

I just asked my hubby when he was planning on going out to shovel our mess. I do love what you did with the quilt. The binding works great and the backing is terrific.

A pieced backing seems way more interesting, particularly on a larger quilt. The front of this one just vibrates!

Our snow didn't melt but settled and it is really slippery. Take care as you get your exercise with that shovel!

I have been thinking of making another rail fence pattern as well, I have 3 fabrics of different colors but same designer - Fairy Frost - that might look well in this pattern, I would just have to make sure I saved enough of it for the border as well. I like your blues

Gorgeous! I agree with jovaliquilts above - such a simple pattern, but your fabric choices really transform it.

BLUE is my favorite color. This quilt just steals my heart. And gets a BLUE RIBBON from me.

Yet another beautiful piece of art;) I love the touccan. The pop of orange is perfect...as for the snow plow...sounds like you better keep it, at least for now...we're supposed to get a break this week...we'll see;)

The blues in this are wonderful!!! I keep thinking of the ocean when I look at it.

Hi Wanda,
I agree with Catherine, it looks like the oceanside. And the orange bits (if we didn't know they were toucans) could be goldfish!
Are you due to get any of that arctic air set to arrive Tues or so? Supposedly we won't be getting out of the single digit temps for a while after that hits.

I can almost hear the voices in the jungle at night. The dark fabrics go so well with the bird cloth!

I love blue too. I would be turning that qult over every day so I could enjoy both sides.

Now if I could only decide how to back the quilt I am planning! I wish I were close so we could audition fabrics together.

I too love that quilt! It's my favorite colors. I need to do another rail fence quilt!

Wow, you got a lot of snow! I hope you don't have to shovel for awhile now. More than once a day is way too much!
