Off and on all day yesterday I did a little hand stitching on the binding of table runner 2 and finished it last night. One more to go; binding is sewn on, hand stitching needed.
I have looked into this project box 3 times lately, maybe it is time to make something from it. The pile on the left has 173 batik squares. Under the 57 wonky pieced blocks is another pile of 140 squares. I did some calculations and I could make a 65" x 90" quilt from the pile of squares on the left plus the wonky pieced blocks. If I used all of the squares in the box I could make a quilt 85" x 105". I think the pile underneath on the right is duplicates of the pile on the left. I like quilts made of all squares but I might get bored doing the layout on the larger size one.
I'm still thinking about the 6" Kaffe triangles and thought I would try some alternate fabrics to use with them. This is option 1, a Brandon Mably plaid print.
Option 2 is the light plaid, same print as above. I haven't checked to see how straight it is printed, and whether it would be a good candidate for die cutting.
The third option is also a Brandon Mably print.
I spent about an hour outside in the nice cool weather yesterday morning cutting and pulling weeds and volunteer trees/bushes in the garden outside my dining room picture window. One huge 4' tall weed was really bugging me and it had to go.

Ooo--I love the unexpected dark plaid with the floral. The light plaid is fine and the last print feels cliche! And the plaid lines are wavy, so you really don't need to worry about the appearance of straight if it otherwise works for die cutting. As always, just my opinion!
I love #1!
Definitely #1! Its a striking supporting actor that doesn't overpower the beautiful triangles. Imho
Oh funny how the alternate print makes such a "vibe" difference with the triangles...I like them all really--the 1st one gives me a wintry feel; for me the 2nd one looks springlike; and the 3rd--summery...
68 here this morning a bit on the muggy side with 67 DP and partly cloudy...
Hope to make the binding for Christmas Ojos this morning--did the strip cutting yesterday...

I have some tall weeds that are bugging me too. I like Option 1.
Always do such lovely work on your bindings. You didn’t ask for our opinion on your options… but my favorite is no. 1 also.
I like the dark plaid. Since the design isn't perfectly straight, there is a lot of play you have with it.
Oh, me too, I like option #1!
Well, I'm going against the tide. I like option 2, although, I myself, do not like working with plaids as they always seem to be wonky. Looking forward to seeing what you choose. Cooler weather here and so much to do outside, but cooler weather means I can turn on the iron. Makes it hard to figure out whether to weed or to sew.

Wish I had the precut batiks you have!
I like option 3, too.
Onward for you!!
Hugs!
I quite like the darker BM plaid as the alternate. And honestly if it is printed a bit crooked, that will replay itself throughout the quilt giving it a truly Brandon vibe. Will be fun to see what you do.
I like the dark plaid because it’s a little different.
Ooh, that dark plaid is an unexpected surprise! I'd normally prefer the dotted one, but that dark plaid really speaks to me.
