Top #2 for August 2025...................

This quilt top was just a fast, fun project to use up a lot of the Kaffe collective scraps.  There are repeats because some of the scraps were large enough for 2-4 rectangles.  It also used two of the Brandon Mably black and whites which I had been collecting but not using.  It is about 54" x 75", so it's a nice throw quilt size.

This month I'm tied now at 2 finishes and 2 tops.  My head says baste a small quilt and get it finished.  I hope I do that.

I can tell it's getting toward autumn when this Hosta blooms.  It has the sweet smelling lily type flowers.  It is the last of the hostas to bloom each year.

The tomato plants have filled in and lots of the lower leaf branches are dying, which is normal at this time of the summer.  We are supposed to have a little cooler day today with lower humidity so I plan to get out with my clippers and cut off a lot of unnecessary parts today.  At the left 2 Sungold and one Early girl are in the raised bed.  The mound to the right is the beginning of a row of 7 pots.

There is one more pot to the right of this area.  There were 2 volunteer plants that I couldn't separate so they are planted together in the black pot at the right.  I can tell one is Sungold but I think maybe the other one is either the 4th of July or Early Girl because the tomates look a little larger than Sungold.  I won't know until the tomatoes grow a little more.

Your tomato plants look great! Love that Hosta bloom, I long for that to happen with mine, but it sadly stays small at about 4 leaves every year - lol! At least it's still alive. :)

Great finish on the KF and B&W fabrics, Wanda;))) It did come together quickly!!
My tomatoes' lower leaves are dying also--clipped them off mostly. Unfortunately, my tomatoes have a tough skin--don't know why???
My daughter is slated to come down to go to the beach today--but it is raining here and doesn't look like beach weather; so, we shall see if she decides to come tomorrow instead. It is 73 with 72.3 dewpoint--feels like a sauna out there--ugh.
I am trying to use up the rest of my pink strips from "Sunrise, Sunset" ...for a small spider web piece with green centers...fun
sewing...hugs, Julierose

The similar-but-different black/white prints are a great choice to show off the florals. Your tomato vines are enthusiastic!

This was a fast finish and it's beautiful. My tomato plants are still suffering. August is our hottest month and I'm just trying to keep them alive.

The quilt top is wonderful! I kind of miss that I didn't plant any zucchini this year. It is fun to grow stuff!

What a great and colorful quilt top you've finished and when someone gets to choose one of your quilts to take home, I imagine this will be one of the first to go! Of course, you have a huge array of quilts so choosing one would be difficult and take time!
I have one more seam to sew to finish the Single Irish Chain scrappy baby quilt. It will have one or two borders. I'd better check my fusible batting to see if I need to order more.

Hugs!
