I pressed the top half of the quilt top and folded it to make it fit above the area where I was going to design the bottom half.
After designing the bottom half I started sewing it together.
There are 3 more seams to sew on it and then I can press it and add it to the top half.
I didn't choose most of these fabrics, they were just the chunks in the scrap bin large enough to cut a 3.5" x 6.5" rectangle with my die cutter. Then I cut a few more from yardage to get up to the 150 that I needed. It would be a nice design to use a specific chosen set of fabrics.
The mass of Brown-eyed Susan is in full bloom now. There have never been this many before and they have never been this tall before. They are drought tolerant so they weren't affected by our lack of rain.
The first pot of cucumber plants didn't survive but the second pot is doing pretty well. I made a little trellis from 4 stakes and some string and they are climbing up. There are lots of blossoms so I hope there will be some cucumbers for the neighbor girl.

Love the quilt and thank you for the reminder that black and white fabrics look great mixed with color. Your Susan display is glorious! The cuke plant looks very healthy.
I love your Kaffe quilt and may have to do something similar. My Brown-eyed Susan's are huge this year, too, but not ass tall as yours are.
Wanda your scrap bin is like none other, creating such a beauty as this one is ! And bringing in your fun black and white’s … and your Brown Eye Susan in all its glory for sure showing off .
You've made good progress on this wonderful quilt!
Our black eyed Susans are in bloom, too, and have quietly spread to fill the flower bed.
Today I hope to sew the short seams and the one long side to side seam to get the scrappy baby quilt top together!
Hugs!
Love the quilt top! Those brown eyed Susan's are amazing!
What a beautiful cluster of brown eyed Susan's! the rain has made my tomato plant grow like crazy, this quilt is going to be beautiful !
This quilt has my heart! It is so bold and vibrant. I love the bold colors with the black and white. I made a purse once with bright African fabrics and black and white. A great mix!
