More blocks and a book.....................

Some blocks were sewn in the morning and some in the evening.  All together 12 more got pieced.  It's easier to photograph them in groups of 6.

There will be a lot of color in this little baby quilt.  I was thinking ahead to what I will use for backing and my thought now is to not use a plaid on the back.  I have a couple cute prints that I can decide between.

I got Kaffe Fassett's newest book in the mail yesterday.  If you have any of his previous books and liked a certain quilt but didn't care for the color, you may like this book better.  He has 3 versions of each quilt.  It is an interesting concept because it may make you like a quilt because of the color range.  I don't have a  favorite yet but I like the medallion quilt on the cover.

There was 1" of rain in the gauge when I checked yesterday morning.  Areas around us got a lot more but I'm happy with what we got.

Plaid 9-patches looking good, Wanda!:))) I think a cute print on the back would work well;)))
59 this morning and we didn't get any of that predicted rain overnight. Still dry here...hugs, Julierose

A print on the back of those plaids would look great. We finally got some rain - at 2:30am waked up to loud thunder!

I had to look and look again to see the variations in the plaids. All together they look pleasantly cozy. Yes, a print will work well for the back. And thanks for the notice of the new book!

I agree that the baby quilt won't need a plaid backing. Are these plaids flannel? Just wondering.
Hope to get the first border on the SIC baby quilt I'm making. Have just lacked the energy for these last few days.

Hugs!

The blocks are so pretty! I love all the colors and the different plaids you used to make each block.

I like the idea of a print on the back of the baby quilt. That book is on my birthday wish list.

I’m looking forward to your layout of plaids… you sure have some very nice looking blocks to work with. And the Medallion quilt on your new book, looks like a stunning creation.

The plaids are looking great! My vote is for a print backing, more plaid may make it look to busy but do what is pleasing to your eye,the book sounds like a good one,i like the idea of different versions if a quilt
