MIndless sewing results..................

After I cut 2 more 4.5" sections off the strata, I cut the remaining strata into 1.5" strips.  Then adding 2 sections to the end of one of the table runner tops I had enough left to make a mug rug top about 7" x 8.5".  I had originally intended to make the table runners like the mug rug, but I came to my senses, remembered this was mindless, soothing sewing, and cut larger sections.  This table runner top is 12" x 30".

I had enough sections of strata to make 3 table runners the size I showed yesterday, but I decided instead to split the 3rd group and add half to each of 2 table runners.  They are now 12" x 36".  Now the only decision left on this pair is whether I back them with the same fabric in case the same person ends up with them and would like to flip them over and have backs matching, or use some of my smaller pieces of batik and make them different.

Late yesterday afternoon a local person posted on Instagram about the big storm that just blew through.  Others commented about large branches in the road.  In my neighborhood we got a gentle shower for less than 10 minutes, no wind.  Later however another storm rolled through and it sounded like a good rain.  I'll have to check the rain gauge this morning.

Pretty table runners--I like the 1.5" checks on either end of the top one a lot!! :))) Very pretty...
Rain--oh send us some---we only got .01" overnight--not even enough to water my tomato plants...!! :(((
73 degrees with 72.5 dew point already at 7:30 a.m.--going to be another doozey today...
Stay cool hugs, Julierose

Your mindless sewing has really yielded great results! Glad you got some rain. We are looking forward to at least some small chances this week.

The 4ps are a great addition to the strings! Do the runners have destinations? Apparently the NW suburbs got more storm than we did. Our event in Pleasant Prairie ended early as the clouds and wind rolled in but it didn't really rain here until nighttime.

I, too, love the addition of the squares at the end of your runner :) I hope you have a lovely surprise when you look at your rain guage. It’s always nice to miss the high winds and associated clean up.

I'd have to call this 'productive sewing' even if it is mindless! Looking good and some table tops will soon be wonderfully colorful.
Our 98% chance of rain dwindled to naught. There were maybe 17 raindrops on the mailbox. Shuck!

Hugs!

Those runners are pretty! I was watching the Savannah Bananas and Firefighters ball game at the White Sox stadium last night and they had a two hour rain delay. It was pouring so I was thinking that maybe you finally got some rain.

Such fun, happy table runners, great for gifting or selling ~ and I can see you had fun creating them.
