The next third of floral squares have been sorted and placed in the same order as the ones on the design wall (shown yesterday). Now I need to decide if I will just shift the rows to the right so same fabrics don't line up from top to bottom in the quilt or will I mix up the fabrics in each row as I place them on the design wall.
As I was walking through the kitchen yesterday morning I noticed the dappled sunlight highlighting some of the tall flowers. Here I go again with a photo that is similar to my current project.
I went through blocks in the batik orphan block box and found enough left over Hunter Star blocks to make a small table runner top, 12" x 24". I sewed it together last night.
I also finished knitting a dishcloth last night.
Yesterday morning I made treats for my great-grandchildren who live at the far side of a neighboring state. Their grandparents are going to visit them and celebrate 2 birthdays, a 9 year old and a 38 year old. I asked the 9 year old what treat he would like and he said fudge. The 38 year old chose chocolate chip cookies. That of course gave me a little stash of each too.

Thanks for the ideas for using up the florals that have been around for a long time. "Everlastings," for sure! Almost fall-like weather.
I love that dappled sunlight photo--it does echo your project--again!!
A bit warmer this morning--71 with 64 DP --but still nice and sunny...
I like the Hunter's Star runner a lot--so vibrant!!
Hugs for a super Labor day weekend Juierose
I thought the word "dappled" when I first saw your photo, before I saw that you had written it. It's beautiful. Your batiks capture that sun-dappled effect. Lucky great-grands, and lucky you to have a little stash of those goodies. :)
Love your floral fabrics and will enjoy watching what you do with them.
What a lovely photo of your sun dappled garden! That is worthy of framing and hanging in late summer.
Your Hunter's Star table runner is a delight!
Yum: fudge and chocolate chip. Your distant family will be overjoyed!
I'm finally sewing outer borders on the scrappy SIC baby quilt, a side at a time with my little bit of energy.
Hugs!
Your photo is beautiful, so lovely. The dishcloth looks like Neapolitan ice cream :-) always nice to have treats remaining for yourself, yum! Last night I finished the binding on the fifth quilt. So happy to have it finished as the binding was cut years ago at 2 1/4” which makes for a tight fold over. I’ve switched to 2 1/2” in recent years as it’s easier on my hands.
You are lucky to still have color in your garden. My Coneflowers are faded, but the finches are enjoying the seeds.
I’m looking forward to see what you will end up with your florals no matter what you decide it will be lovely, I’m sure. Your Hunter Star piece will make any table sparkle. Like your photo sparkled with sun shine, it is pretty as well as your dishcloth.
so much color! I love your flower garden too it looks really pretty. Glad you had time recently with your family -- always chocolate chip cookies are requested here too
