First finish of August 2025....................

I finished the top of this quilt in April 2023 so it has been waiting a while to be finished.  All of the fabrics on the front are Australian Aboriginal prints.  It is 50" x 71".

On the back is one full length of the Australian black and white print and added to that is a New Zealand fabric.

I used Hobbs 80/20 batting and it was quilted by Robin Diaz.

I had forgotten I added a border to this quilt and saw it when I spread out the quilt for trimming.  That reminded me that I had planned to use the same print for the binding.  I'm glad I have enough of it left for that.

We are still enjoying low humidity and cool night temperatures but it will come to a halt in a couple days.  The humidity will start rising tomorrow.

Congratulations on your first finish for August! It turned out wonderful! I'm glad you had enough of that fabric left for the binding. Looks like another finish soon!

Beautiful finish! I thought of you yesterday when we were in south Texas and I saw a bush with blooms I could not identify. We used to live down there, and I thought I knew every blooming bush - lol - but not this one!

Ditto on the weather here - it has been fabulous to sit outside and read for the past two days. I'll try to make the most of it again today before it heats up again. Your finished quilt is gorgeous - and I'm excited to see the lighter colored one with its binding.

Your borders make this quilt ‘sing’ it is amazing what the borders and bindings do to a quilt. And you always select fabrics that do just that. It has such a radiant rhythm to it . Next in line is border and binding the same perfect for this charming quilt.

Beautiful quilt and the borders and binding finish it perfectly.
Ditto for our delightfully cooler weather and hope it stays until next Monday as is currently forecast. Last night's low was 59*F!

Hugs!

always nice if we remember to put fabric aside with the quilt top for binding and backing too if we have gotten that far. I've been trying to do that more and more. I put a red fabric aside with The Rose Garden Quilt last year that is the same fabric as some of the sashing to make sure I had it. We are still getting some nice nights and early morning but it heats up by 10-11

WOW, Wanda--that is a beautiful quilt!! Nice 1st finish for August.
Great you had enough fabric for binding.
My "Sunrise, Sunset" is all pin basted and waiting its turn to be quilted now...I want to wait to set up my machine for quilting until I have a few in line--as I just have the one machine and it is kind if a "bear" to set up!!
84 here this afternoon...with a bit higher dewpoint of 71..but not too bad...
hugs, Julierose

We had a bit of a cool down late last week, 48 degrees Thurs AM, but now we have wildfire smoke and going back to 90+ by the weekend. We had only a little over an inch of rain in July and none in sight for the next week. Nice to have a finish so early in the month.

I like it! The border frames the coins nicely.
