I decided to wash my bathroom curtains yesterday and when trying to slide them off the tension rod, they tore all the way down the side, sun rot. I checked back on my blog and those curtains were made 10 1/2 years ago. They were so faded they didn't look anything like when they were new.
Here is a close up of the new fabric. I bought it several years ago on sale. It is an Alex Anderson design for P&B fabrics. It is so much heavier weight than most new fabrics are. It only took about 2 hours out of my day to make the curtains.
I hung the top half of the Marcia Derse 16 patch quilt on my design wall (color is not true). I was going to start working on the bottom half but decided to continue hand stitching the binding on another quilt instead. I'm almost done with it.

Ooo, the curtain fabric is SO Pretty! It made me think, "Art Deco" (or Art Nouveau?)
Love these 16-patch pair-ups, and the surprising twists of the pattern changes; shimmering almost.

Love that paisley-ish fabric for your new curtains! Your Marcia Derse quilt looks like fun to work on. :)
This is a good use of that fabric. It works well with the tile.
Your new curtains are very pretty! I am loving that MD quilt!
Love the new curtains! The fabric is a perfect match for your bathroom...I know you will enjoy them!
The new curtains look lovely :) I always think non quilting sewing things will take longer than they actually do.
I've had that rot happen too over the years with items in the sun all the time. Now that kind of sewing I can do-but clothing not really.
I know it has to feel good to have new curtains up on your window ? It gives the whole room a lift I’m sure. And your fabric is so very pretty. Good two hours spent on that ! And now back to creating on your design wall and hand stitching binding on your quilt. Every day you put in such good progressive days.
Love your new curtains and that happy paisley fabric! My mother always lined curtains she made if they were to hang in windows that faced either east or west.
I'm looking forward to seeing the finished quilt when you've finished the binding. Do you put labels on your quilts?
Hugs!
