A quilt top..........................

I got the 2 halves of this Marcia Derse fabric 16 patch quilt top pressed and sewed the final seam.  After pressing that seam I struggled to get it up on the double design wall.  I reached as high as I could but the last few inches still ended up on the floor.  I had to hang it sideways and rotated the photo.  The part on the floor is on the right edge.  It is 80" x 96", large enough for an oversize twin quilt.  With the deep mattresses on the new beds we need to make bed quilts larger unless they are just used as a topper over a bedspread.

Last night's mindless sewing was making blocks out of a pile of triangles I cut last month.  These blocks will finish at 5".

Yesterday was 90 with a feel like temperature of 99 on my phone app.  Evidently the thermometer is down at our local high school because it is giving me the temperature of a small airport about 20 miles away.

Big, beautiful finish on this flimsy, Wanda;))) Nice work getting it together and...UP on your wall, too!!
58 here this early morning, hoping for one more day of coolness to enjoy our deck before the heat and humidity come in!!
I need to cut two batting pieces for the "littles" (baskets and corner dresdens pieces) out on my dining table.
The fabric I hand stitched on Kathy Schmitz piece is hard to needle...so will give a thought to machine quilting...hmmm...
Hugs, Julierose

Very pretty finish. Good idea on turning the quilt sideways then rotating the photo, I'll remember that!

I love this quilt top. It's so rich and colorful. As for the weather in our part of Illinois? YUK!!! The 90+ temps and the unbearable humidity are really very trying.

your right on the size of quilts now for the beds and then if you have a bed high up off the floor to it needs a little bit more. My sister in law is so short she has a set of two steps next to her bed so she can get in and out LOL -your quilt top is perfect - will you have your friend quilt this one?

That's a big one! It looks great. I forego the length needed for a pillow tuck and just hope there's enough drape for the sides and the bottom. And the 'random' sets of triangles will become something creatively colorful in no time at all. P.S. Just as I turned on the sprinkler last evening there was thunder -- and rain for about a minute and a half.

What a delightful and wonderfully colorful quilt top you've created, Wanda!! Well done!
Love your mindless sewing blocks, too. HSTs are so useful.
We're creeping toward the low 90s*F at the end of the week and hope the humidity will be low.

Hugs!
