Table mat finish................

This wavy stripe was my choice for the binding of the 2 table mats.  It is a red purple although it may look brown on your monitor or phone.

It looks good with both sides of the mat.  This one is 15" square.

The background on this backing fabric is purple even though it may appear as black or navy on your monitor.

I have started the hand stitching of the binding on the smaller mat too.

I spent more time cutting a batting and preparing 2 backings for larger quilts yesterday, about 2 hours standing on the cement floor in the basement.  I'll find something kinder to my joints to work on today.  I need to continue quilting on the Crooked Cobblestone wall hanging.

Rain predicted today and in the 40s and 50s the early part of the week.  Maybe up toward 60 at the end of the week.  Our normal high temperature is 49 right now so we are close to that.

Great backing choice for the tablemat, Wanda--;)))
I just made us overnight (12 hr really) lasagna and it took almost one hour of standing putting it together. [I also find standing for a length of time more difficult than walking. Rest up today;)))]

29 here and that WNW-erly wind is up again. We are really surprised that no limbs have come down off our old woods' trees. We have one really large, ancient cherry tree that looks precarious off of our tv room!! So far so good...

I am quilting my Dark Days 3rd block with regular quilting stitches and some "stick" stitches (these hold raw edges) across the length of blue fabrics...we'll see what is in store for us this coming Wednesday...
Hugs for a great Sunday Julierose

Wow that's pretty. I love the backing and binding fabrics as much as the front! Are those log cabins on the front?

Your 15” table topper is perfect size for any size table, round, square or rectangle ~ and it will add such beauty to any dinning room.

What a delight to find the perfect binding fabric in your stash and just at the time you need it! Great, too, that it works for both small table mats!
I need to make some seasonal table runners and mats as so far, I've made only two.

Hugs!

the binding fabric goes perfectly with those. We have no rain predicted and actually need it for a change our spring time in March is usually bringing us too much rain a this time of year and now it is too little I hope that is not a hint of a dry summer

Wanda, they are both just perfect! I love them. Once again, you have created beauty. Thank you for sharing your process and inspiration with us all.

That's a great fabric for bindings. That's the kind of fabric that I'd wish to have yards and yards of.
