There are 16 fabrics in the mock up of the Whimsy quilt and I used about 28 fabrics. I'm not sure that was a good idea. There are only 9 spots for each block (because there are 4 different blocks) so I was extremely limited in where I could place them. I think this might be the best layout I can achieve and I'll decide that when I look at it this morning.
There were some cute selvages on some of the prints.
Last night I cut the 16 patch block pieces out of the stratas I pieced a few days ago.
There will be 4 blocks alike of each combination and I have 2 of each of these sewn.
We had snow flurries yesterday, more predicted for Friday and then in the 60s at least 2 days next week. The local weatherman said we had one of the lowest low pressure readings yesterday that he had ever seen. Lots of wind with it.

Both pieces coming together so well, Wanda;)))
We are engulfed in heavy fog here this morning after last night's heavy rain...46 degrees and no wind right now with a few sprinkles hanging around. hugs, Julierose
I looking forward to seeing if you keep this layout - I love all the fabrics.
I'm really enjoying the softer look of the fabrics in these projects.
Tilda would be pleased of what you have created with her prints. This has been such fun piece to watch grow. And to get the 16 patch blocks out of that yardage was a bonus.
I'm not surprised to hear you had some snow I thought I had heard that a of the northern states would with all that wind that blew through yesterday that do so many of us. Today it is calm and sunny - a warm up in sight. I really like the look of that quilt top
The top is so pretty! I really like the 16 patch blocks too. I snowed hard here this morning. It got up to 60 here yesterday and right now it is 30. The wind just howled all night!
Both are coming along nicely. Yes, selvedges are so creative.
That pattern is a good showcase for those special fabrics.
