The missing piece from my February 2025 Kaffe collective fabric came in the mail yesterday so here are the last 2 pieces I purchased. I was surprised at how many creases were in the fabrics, all of them, this time.
I did more ditch quilting on the Crooked Cobblestones wall hanging. Here is a close up of some of the stitching. I was using medium pink thread on this line because most of the pieces in this column had pink in them. I'm showing this section so you can see how hidden the ditch quilting is, even when the color doesn't match. I'm using Invisifil thread.
I had a bunch of small projects started over 10 years ago. I made hand dyed quilts in 2012 and 2014 and some of these are from those scraps. They were all quilted and just waiting for binding.
I finished binding two of them last night. They are 6.25" square so I guess they are oversized coasters or very small mug rugs.
The backs are hand dyed fabric too. I have binding cut for the remaining 2 pieces and will probably finish them today.
It was 80 here on Friday and last night's late weather forecast said we would have snow this morning. This is March in northern IL.

Your in-the-ditch quilting is so perfect, Wanda--lovely work; I can see how it would take a long time...I did some on my Purple/Pink Ojos piece yesterday--and slow is definitely the way to go...mine, btw is no where near as good as yours!!
45 here early on this morning--with rain predicted for tonight through Monday....
Hugs, Julierose
I just LOVE crooked cobblestones!! Is there a pattern or an older post I could get some pointers from?
I'm with you on the number of creases/wrinkles in some of the new fabrics (not just KF). Some launder out while others demand pressing and even a hint of starch to flatten them completely. We were in the 80s and with the weather front we're now in the low 50s. Yup - it is March.
after three or four days at 80 I woke up to 36 degrees this morning - cooler today and then back to high 70's I sure hope we do not get an April freeze so many things are blooming again although the berry garden is slow so that is good
Supplier of your new Kaffe fabrics should be embarrassed with those creased filled pieces. And I know how difficult it is to remove them at times also. But the prints are beautiful. ~ Your mug rugs really show off the beauty of hand dyed fabric.
I'm glad your long-awaited fabrics arrived and I know what you mean about creases that aren't easily ironed out. Bother and bummer!
Love the mug rugs, too. I've made DH seasonal mug rugs in the past and just changed his winter ones to green ones for St Patrick's day (wear green tomorrow!).
It's 72*F here and we're in for a stormy afternoon if the forecast is correct. We have four nights in the coming week when the low is forecast to be in the 30s*F.
Hugs!
