More parts sewn...........

I got parts sewn again for the next 3 blocks but didn't sew the blocks together yet.  I'm not positive about the centers in any of them since I'm using squares that were already cut years ago.  I may cut something that is a better match for this one.

The oranges fabric looks OK cut up and works in this block as long as the other color in the churn dash has good contrast.

I'm not sure about the center in this one either.  I'll turn on the iron today and press the pieces and then decide if I'm going to change any center squares.

I was looking out the kitchen window while eating breakfast yesterday and noticed the blackberry lilies are blooming.  I went out with my camera to check it out.

This section of the back garden is so pretty.  Creeping Charlie has covered most of the stone edge again so I need to have a weeding session today while it isn't quite as hot.

Here is a third view from a little different angle.  The coneflowers are a deeper pink but the camera won't pick up the color.

We got some much needed rain yesterday afternoon.  This is the view from the kitchen window while it was still raining lightly.

This shot was taken out the front door while it was raining.  Finally the Tiger Lilies are starting to bloom.

Choosing center colors for those churn dash blocks is quite a challenge...you have such a good eye...

If the fabric choice is bothering you, I am sure you will find something better. Love the flowers. I have Asiatic lilies and they look wonderful right now. I seem to have lost the pink ones- have to make sure I buy some this fall.

Almost drove off the road recently trying to see if a neighbor's purple coneflowers looked like yours!

I like the center on the first block, but then the color on my monitor could be off so to your eye it might not be quite right. I agree on the three block that you might find another fabric works better. The lily is beautiful and look at all those flower buds! I had the most beautiful Stargazer lily. I brought it with me when I moved, but it didn't survive. It just wasn't happy where I planted it. If it hadn't died I am sure the deer would have eaten the flowers anyway.

Interesting Churn Dash layouts! I can see your creativity at work. Love your garden shots. That Tiger Lily looks fantastic.

Love the photo of the Tiger Lily with raindrops clinging to it. (wonder what would happen if you swapped the centers on blocks 1 and 3?)

Tiger Lilies are one of my favourites! I love watching your work progress and you sharing your design process. I enjoy following your blog and quilting adventures!

The angles in the tents fabric in that last block make that one really interesting. Almost looks like paper piecing. It's fun to see how these fabrics play when you get them arranged in a block. I really like the first one with the black spots.

The center in the first block looks nice to me. The second one might need a change and the other ones are not bad, but if you find better ones!!
Love your garden, always an inspiration.
