Favorites and solids............
Yesterday I went through my pink/coral/azalea print fabrics and pulled my favorites in the value range I need for the new project. I cut off a strip to die cut triangles and squares and another strip of some for one of my solid and print series quilts.
Then I sorted my postage stamp blocks into piles of color to see which I needed to add more to and also some more neutrals. If you wonder why I have so many solid color fabrics I explained when I was starting the series with solids and prints that I thought I was going to be able to participate in another Nancy Crow workshop several years ago and we were required to bring 100 or more different color solids. Circumstances beyond my control happened and I wasn't able to attend the workshop.

I can see I'm going to like your latest project with the pinks and reds - I always look forward to seeing you start something new. I'm slowly building up a collection of solids so I can try a smaller version of postage stamp blocks - lap quilt size will be big enough for me :)
100 or more different fabrics?!! I can't imagine. Lucky you though that you have found a new use for them - those blocks are darling.
Hooray for using favorite fabrics - so many of us are reluctant to cut into ours when they really are meant to be used and enjoyed. Fun to see your beautiful postage stamp block photo.
Nothing wrong with that many solids! You are now putting them to good use.
Such a solid memory! Years ago, attending "Quilting by the Lake", I was tempted to sign for Nancy's workshop. But that "100 solids" requirement scared me. My subsequent purchases of Kaffe Fassett's "shot cottons" would almost meet that rule!!!
All the fabric you posted today is a real eye treat. I used to use solids in the 80s because I hated the prints, but today, I need to buy some as I have very little.
YIKES= 100 different solids--who among us has that many--anyway--I guess you do now, right?? ;000

Love, love, love those pink and coral fabrics Wanda. I can see why you're anxious to get going on this one. Almost like all your favorite foods sitting in front of you that you can't wait to eat. lol
I love the colours you've chosen here Wanda. I haven't worked much with solids, only when making a couple of Amish style quilts but I do have quite a stash, like yourself I will have no problem choosing for my Postage Stamp quilt when I make it.
