Tuesday night sewing..................

Yesterday was the make up eye appointment in Chicago for the one I cancelled on Oct. 30 because we had an icy storm.  It is always a long day because the driving time is over 3 hours both ways combined. Traffic was good yesterday.  Everything was good and I didn't need an injection.  The tumor is stable (and shrunk).  It has been 7 years now since I had the radiation treatment on that eye.  The dilation didn't wear off until about 5 p.m. so I wasn't able to do much in the afternoon.

Last night I spent 2-1/2 hours making crazy pieced blocks.
I got 2 of them up to the size to be trimmed and have 4 more started.  I'm already bored with the small assortment of yellow scraps.  I will search through my batiks and see if I can find some to add.  I'm trimming these blocks to 10.5" and the red quilt I made was 6.5" blocks.  I think part of my boredom is trying to make large blocks.  I think I will make a batch of 5.5" blocks to use with the 10.5" ones and see how it goes.

I was walking through the kitchen just at the right time to catch this sunset.  It was even more intense than it looks in the photo.

I had question from 2 people during my decade favorites posts about whether I had ever made a pastel quilt or a low volume quilt.  I have posted several pastel quilts over the 12 years I have been posting but since they are in the minority they aren't remembered.  Sometimes the photos enhance the fabrics to look darker than they look in person too.  So the answer is Yes.

What wonderful news about your eye! I like how you added the black and white prints to the yellow. Maybe I should send you my yellow scraps to get you out of being bored with these! It could be a win-win for the both of us! LOL!!!

Having had an eye operation myself in the past I can understand your concern, but it was good to read your tumor is stable/shrunk. All we can do it keep doing what we do and take care of our eyes. Love seeing another scrappy block photo session - I love seeing your process when sewing. We've had some amazing red sunsets in the past 3 weeks and I've enjoyed seeing photo's of them on FB :)

How fun to read that you get bored while making scrappy blocks - happens here, too. And what excellent news from your eye specialist. HOORAY!!!

So happy that your appointment went well Wanda. What better way to celebrate than to play in a box of scraps.

glad the eye tumor is stable - I hate how long it takes to wear off the dilation

Oh Wanda, great news to begin 2020 about your eye. So happy tumor is still shrinking at this stage.

Happy sunshine yellow blocks in the making. They just sparkle and look so vibrant, I like your plan of small blocks with the bigger ones. This is going to be a fun one to watch grow.

Beautiful sunset. Why don't you design a sunset quilt. (^._.^)

Glad your eyes are doing well and that you were able to sew a bit later in the day. LOVE those yellows paired with the black and white slivers!!

Beautiful sunset!! - I'm so glad that your eye appointment went well - good news for sure!! Smaller blocks are more fun and easier to make - for me - but larger blocks make a top faster - so deciding which to make usually depends on "why" I'm making them - LOL - ;))

So thrilled for you on the eye doctor report. What a blessing that is staying shrunk. The yellows are so cheery on gray days that we have had.

So happy for the good news from your eye doctor. I’m sure that’s a big relief for you, as well, and surely we’ll worth a day’s travel!

Happy to read such good news Wanda, it doesn't seem like 7 years since we first knew about your problem and a relief to hear that the tumour has shrunk!!
