Finally............

It's done!!!
I finished the quilting and then did the binding while I watched TV. There were new episodes of the 3 shows I watch on Friday nights.
The color is more correct on the picture above. It is hard to get this one to look just right. It is more of a coral pink and the camera and software in the computer want to give it a lavender tone.
The backing is a print I bought while I worked in Batavia, and I left that job in 2000. That's just more proof why we need stashes. I didn't have quite enough so I pieced in 4 leftover blocks.
A close up of the pieced section of the back.
Here is another close shot of the quilting and the binding.
I took some nature photos that I will post tomorrow. I'm still working on arranging the furniture in the studio. I want both leaves up on the cutting table and I'm having trouble configuring the space. I think I just need to move the serger and its table out of there since I use it mostly for the layettes for the preemies when I sew at church. That will give me room to shuffle things around.

Great solution for the backing! These window-like small squares in the middle of some blocks are fascinating.

I would never have thought to make a quilt out of these colors, but I absolutely love your finished quilt. So happy!

Love the color! I have never pieced a back, might have to give that a try.

The colors are definitely exuberant. I love it! And I always find pieced backs more interesting, espeically if a block from the front is included.

Yes, we need our stashes. Why doesn't my family understand that??? I can often make a quilt without having to buy anything new (not that I don't find excuses to add to the stash at every opportunity).

I love how this turned out. I think one of the reasons I'm so attracted to it also, is because it is in "my colors".

What a yummy finished quilt!
Do you plan to use one of the back squares to sign and date the quilt? Or will you do something different for a label?

Another awesome creation. Colors are happy and so springlike. And the added blocks on the back gives it custom a look, like a special signature design.

Oh, my, this looks like strawberries and cream, Wanda, a truly 'delicious' quilt! You must have an amazing stash.

Good luck re-arranging your studio. I like having my sewing/serging tables facing the windows into the woods, but then I can't reach to open the windows. Life is complicated.

Once again you've created a gorgeous quilt. I love your color choices. Did you have a pattern or was this your own design?

Oooo, this is such a lovely quilt! I love framed squares, and especially when they're a little wonky. And I think the quilting suits it admirably. Great job, Wanda!

I love this quilt... so bright and cheerful... I think I am in my red zone now... last year I was into black, black, and more, black... Just today I bought a sweater with these colors. 100% Alpaca yarns. On sale half price !
