Final layout

I found a fabric I liked for the top and bottom setting triangles and corners. This is just blocks on the design wall in this picture but I have it about half sewn together. I had a computer club meeting to attend last night so I didn't get as much done as I wanted to. I did a little rearranging of the blocks and decided the light half block in the middle on the right didn't look so bad after I had the other half blocks in there. This is so much prettier in person than it is in pictures.

It is supposed to be in the 70's today. I may have to spend some time outside checking all of my perennials. Spring is finally here!

Someone emailed me and asked where the Cobblestones pattern was available. Cobblestones is my own original design, named by me (with help from a reader). All it is comprised of is a shape created in many colors which is then placed on a design wall and moved around until the values and colors are pleasing. It could be done with diamond shapes, squares, etc. This is not a pattern where you pick up color A and surround it with color B, C, D, and E. This is designed piece by piece and comes from the heart and soul. I have played with arranging colors since I was a small child and this is just an extension of that play.

That is really beautiful! I've been watching your progress and love what you're doing with it.
I also love your cobblestones.

A "good" spring day here - the temperature hits 50! I would say you are in the middle of a heat wave, ha, ha. Enjoy the nice weather though! Love you final layout - sunny green quilts (not Christmas green) always make me think of the month of May! My green quilt graces my bed in May.
Cheers! Evelyn

This quilt just gets better each day you add to it and show it to us!

What I like about this one is the texture. The entire piece seems to be carved (not the right word, but it is Friday and brain is fuzzy). How will you quilt it?

I like that burst of light on the right side! It's really beautiful, Wanda

I love the green setting pieces at the top and bottom. Also there's one green in the center that looks a bit yellow which looks to me like sunshine peeping through leaves. Thanks so much for sharing again!

I'll add my compliments and agreement about the setting triangle fabric. I can't think of anything that could even come close to being better. (sheesh... I might need more coffee this morning)

Your description of Cobblestones is inspiring and right on. We all should allow ourselves - no, encourage ourselves - to play occasionally. It's amazing what happens!

Lady of the Lake is just LOVELY ! Been such a treat to watch it grow. Supreme fabrics in pattern and color.

Good night if I had computer club I would have not been able to do anything but, just get ready for that. You just make me smile with your energy and it inspires me to keep up with you. Well try anyway. (*._,*)

The setting triangles are great and I am honored to watch and have you explain how you go about getting the colors in the right place.

I like it, I like it!
Now I know why you picked a green quilt to work on; you were channeling gardening!
And that green used for setting with the pink dots -- wow. Never realized how much pink was in the rest of the blocks until you chose that fabric.

Love your greens, Wanda. I won the March fat quarter lotto at guild and they were green. Several years ago I won the green, too. I may use your idea! Yay, for warm weather.
