I got two quilts back from my longarm friend and one of them is trimmed now. I'll probably choose binding that looks best with the backing because any color will be OK with the top. This is the top I made a couple months ago.
Oh, no! The fabric has rotted along the edge of the collar stand on one of my favorite short sleeve blouses. It is at least 20 years old, maybe older. It makes me wonder if it was like this the last time I was wearing it........
Now there are more Purple Coneflowers blooming in the area where the Ox-eye (false sunflower) is growing. I need to get out there and cut down the tree of heaven that is growing behind this for the second time this summer. I've tried to kill it but it keeps coming back.

Oops! Spell check and an errant finger!
Tordon got it at Amazon. It'll kill anything so use as directed and with caution as it is toxic. When you cut that tree/shrub, just drip some on the cut area and it will do the rest. I've never been disappointed with it. But I do wear a rubber glove and keep a plastic bag between me and the bottle. Just in case.
You got your money’s worth from your blouse!
That pretty pink blouse needs new life in a quilt!
The blouse fabric is pretty, and I agree with Nann! Wow that photo of the false sunflowers with the coneflowers is beautiful.
Oh no, not a tree of heaven...as anonymous said - chemicals will be required. I'd add that I've seen recommendations to cut and apply in fall, as the stump killer will pull the chemicals down to the roots better. Apparently simply cutting the tree off only ticks off the roots and they will start sprouting up everywhere. The rest of your gardens look good, happy you got some decent rain the last round.
Pity about the blouse, but yay that you can fit in it 20 years later. Wish I could say that! Will it be a repair job, or cut up for the fabric stash? Though I don't recall that you've ever gotten into using garment fabrics (even 100% cotton) in your quilts. It is a lovely batik fabric though...
Oh sorry your blouse fabric gave up the ghost!! Sad to see a favorite go!! :(((
Your cone- and sun-flowers are so lovely in that dappled greenery, Wanda...
78 here with a 75 dewpoint--staying in the AC for sure today.
A bit of a relapse last night so I will be resting. SIGH--this is getting "old"!! :(((
Maybe I can do a bit more quilting on Christmas Ojos...
Hugs, Julierose
I would use a zigzag stitch and tack the edge of the blouse down and noone will notice it and you'll have more years of wearing a favorite and loved blouse!!!
Looks like you will have two more finishes for the month if you get the binding on those. I bet that blouse can be fixed.
I'd mend the blouse with some bright pink fabric and continue to wear it at home!
Your garden is gorgeous!!
We had more rain last night so our total for July is now a bit over 9" if you can believe it. More storms are likely today.
I'm about to press my chosen fabric for the alternate squares in my scrappy Single Irish Chain baby quilt and hope for the energy to cut the squares, too.
Hugs!
I get so many plants and trees that keep coming back after I think I have killed them if you find something that works let me know. I've got at least 3 trees that keep coming back in the garden and each year I think I have finally gotten rid of them only to find them growing again by mid summer. I love that quilt it looks great.
I once had a suit with work elbows and I was always horrified to think how long it had been that way before I noticed!
