It looked like there was a possibility of rain yesterday morning but I decided to water the tomato plants anyway. There were some red ones so I invited my 4 year old neighbor girl to pick them for her family. There were 3 red and one orange that needed a couple more days on the windowsill. I picked a couple orange ones for my windowsill too. We ended up getting .3" of rain by 2 p.m. I'm hoping we will get some more later this week since this was the first measurable rain this month.
When I went out to check the rain gauge I noticed quite a few blooms on the Yellow Coneflower.
There were more of the shaggy center Red Coneflowers too. There are lots of weeds in this flowerbed and now that it has rained I should be able to pull out a bunch of it.
Behind the red blooms is the pot with all of the leftover Coleus plants in it. They were tiny and not looking so great when I planted them and they look great now. I have a Lungwort plant there that somehow migrated from the back garden.
I had moved the garage pots out farther so they could catch some of the rain too. Now they are back where they belong.
In the geranium pot are the wintered over plants from last year and 2 new $1.88 tiny plants from a big box store. They are all blooming now, as well as the Begonias in the pot next to it.

All your flowers are looking so pretty --love that pink geranium...
73 and overcast here --still very muggy out there, too...hoping for a
break in this HHH weather...hugs, Julierose
Everything is looking good despite the lack of rain. I didn't have to water last night again which was nice. We might get some rain tonight, but the chances are pretty low. I am going to have to dampen down the areas where I sowed the poppy seeds just to make sure they have enough moisture to sprout.
Glad you caught some good rain. I love geraniums, especially pink ones bobbing their heads outside the window. -Roxanne
In spite of not enough rain, your flowers look to be thriving, they are beautiful! I miss coleus and the way it flourishes in the sun. You have a pretty mix in your pot.
How fun for your neighbor to pick tomatoes. Our littlest grands (6 and 8) are here this week, and I waited for them to pick the tomatoes. It's so nice to see their enthusiasm.
I like those shaggy red cone flowers. Nice your tomatoes are coming in I like your yellow ones too - I notice that your yellow ones seem to have wider petals than the variety I have which have more narrow petals - but I think I have wild ones mixed in in places.
What lovely flowers and their gorgeous colors! Soon you'll be enjoying fresh tomatoes, too. Yum!
If you can believe it, we've had 5.5" of rain since July 1 including last night's window rattling thunder and torrential rain.
Hugs!
Your green thumb's efforts are definitely showing - beautiful colors to enjoy when you are outside.
Gardening and quilting: two of my most favorite subjects! You really have your garden looking good. In Kennesaw, GA, we had quite a bit of rain and now nothing, so I am hand watering the flower pots.
