Moody 16 patch

I think this photo is a little dark, but this 16 patch is definitely a moody group of fabrics.  I just put one of each that are sewn on the wall temporarily.  I have chosen 12 more fabrics to cut and they are lighter than a lot of these.

I chose 4 of the new fabrics and sewed them but they aren't pressed so they aren't on the wall with the rest of the blocks.

I went out after sunset to take this photo.  I kept meaning to go out earlier.  This is the first of the Tiger Lily plants to bloom and the larger group in the back garden should bloom soon.  Now that we have had 2" of rain (1" two nights in a row) the blooms should last a while too.

On the way back I snapped this photo of some of the tomato plants.  There is a Forsythia bush behind them which is the tallest branches with leaves.  They kept growing taller when we weren't getting rain and had 90 degree days.  The leaves were stressed at that time and now more normal leaves are at the top.  They are flopping over the top of their cages and have lots of blossoms.  I'm seeing tiny tomatoes on one of the volunteer plants and I'm sure it is a Sungold.

Pretty tiger lily! I would love to have more lilies, because I really enjoy seeing them on yours and Karen's blog. I have day lilies, but our gold duranta bushes are huge and take up most of the space out front, and they crowd out anything else. Your potted tomato plants look neat - think I'll try that next year.

Your Moody 16 Patch reminds me of our skies lately--it's been quite a run of dark days here...
Really pretty tiger lilies...I have 2 Day lilies in bloom right now--they
seem to appreciate this humid weather...
68 here and overcast and muggy again...not much rain here on the coastline--only .01" overnight...morning fog has become the norm...
hugs, Julierose

such tall tomato plants! they will be bending over for sure - I remember one year my plants kept getting taller and taller and I had to put a tall trellis up behind them and tie them up and my sister in law had them the same way that year and we both had very few tomatoes - hope you get a lot. Love the tiger lilies, mine have flowered longer this year then they do sometimes and still have then flowering.

Love those blocks and colors! The heat is stressing plants here, even if I water, the heat gets them. My tomato plants have gone bonkers.

I agree it is a Moody 16 Patch . But your lighter blocks will certainly add smiles. Your rain was a blessing for sure . We can see it in all your plants today.

Love your Moody 16 Patches and it will be interesting to see how lighter fabric blocks will mix in. Have fun!
Love your Tiger Lily! The deer ate our special lilies and left us will all orange day lilies that aren't in bloom yet.
We got an inch of rain yesterday afternoon for a total of 7.5" since July 1. Glub, glub!

Hugs!
