Hot and stormy................

Photo with the fallen tree removed.  My Brown Eyed Susans (in the center back) survived with only a couple broken off.

I worked in the basement yesterday because the dew point was over 80 with a real temperature of 91 and a feel like temperature of 110 degrees.

I got part of the basement vacuumed and did a couple hours of die cutting.  I also got a border cut.

The storms rolled in around 6 p.m. and we finally got some rain with this storm, 1" by 8 p.m.  The night before there were at least 6 tornados about 30 miles north and traveling east.  We were on the south edge of the storms and only got .35" of rain.  More heat and storms predicted for 2 more days.  I am hoping for more rain since our grass in half brown/half green.

That looks so much better with that tree gone. Here it rained Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday and it dumped over 2 inches of rain. The air is so thick I swear you could cut it with a knife!

Same weather down her... Hot and Steamy. We had some rain too, most of it in 30 minutes, an inch!!! The pond looks good tho. Our grass looks like yours!!! Hopefully, the trees won't suffer!

glad you didn't get the bad storms - that is high humidity you have - for a change we have a heat wave but not high humidity - 97 yesterday but only 45% humidity - strange but nice that it wasn't humidity but still too hot to do much of anything

It is hot here too. I am glad the storms missed you and that you still got rain. Hope you get more rain.

I'm glad you got a bit of rain but avoided the damaging parts. Last night all went just north of us, this morning a storm went just south of us. Maybe later today we'll get rain? If not, I'll be out in the morning lugging buckets to the plants I didn't get done yesterday. Your flowers look much happier than mine. Something about faucet water (temperature? mineral content?) doesn't make them as happy as rain does. But today - staying inside and doing a bit of cleaning, and hopefully a bit of sewing (more neck coolers!) or needlework.

No rain here either - maybe a little next week. Even the mature trees are starting to drop leaves in self defense. Congrats on the tree's removal and for getting that much die cutting done. Take care!!

This morning about 7 am wind gusts shook the house like a winter storm as thunderstorms raced throught. A hard downpour but short, so I am not sure how much good it did the gardens. Now the sun is out and it is hot and humid. I will be longarming in the basement I think.

That really is a pretty summer photo of your daisies, and surprisingly very little damage from your neighbors fallen walnut tree.

Memories of Illinois storms still makes me shiver. And its been 55 years since we left.
