Play day..................

Yesterday I revisited the Kaffe orphan block box and played with a few of the choices on my design wall.  I felt no guilt for not doing any sewing, no quilt police here, just pure therapy of playing.  By the way for all of you who are in a slump and really would love to start a new quilt instead of working on a UFO I say GO FOR IT!!  It's FREE therapy!!  Who turns down free therapy?  Put a smile on your face and play with your fabrics with no guilt, just pleasure.
After I had all that fun inside I enjoyed the beautiful low humidity day and did some back garden clean up.  I hope to stay ahead of the weeds this year like I have for the last 2 years.  That doesn't include the Creeping Charlie.  I can't ever stay ahead of that one.

sometimes we do just have to start something new - it makes us happy and in these times of staying at home so much more than normal we have to do what it takes to enjoy the days

I am going to do a "Clean-up" day...I am put off by the messy room these days...too many projects on the FLOOR!! In Boxes!!
Finishing those baskets kinda took all my energy for now--I know it'll be back, but for now it's time for a good pick up...

I spy "H" blocks. I have a few leftover, too, from making the quilt that you inspired me to create.
You are such an inspiration, Wanda. Have a wonderful day doing whatever you want to do.

A most excellent post - what we do in our studios is supposed to be FUN and satisfying (not full of deadlines, pressure, and stress). The weather here was fabulous yesterday (a bit hot by late afternoon but still bearable) and today promises more of the same.

Such pretty blocks. I need to remove the dust bunnies and the stress out of my studio. I need to keep it my sanctuary.

Just love your playing on your design board... Each block tells a different delightful story. Even your playing has the charisma of several new pieces in the making...

I have also been trying to take advantage of the cooler weather to do yardwork and like you trying very hard to keep up with the weeding. I went outside about 8 and had one patch of crabgrass I want to get pulled before it got out of hand and ended up crawling around for over an hour to get that big center bed cleaned up. It was nice and cool, but it was getting dark and I could see the weeds so I had to quit. I agree the creeping Charley is one of those weeds that is hard to keep up with!

The words in your post - just what I needed to hear! A new quilt has already begun, cutting all finished and pieces going up on the wall.
I love the assortment of blocks on your wall right now, the Bear Paw ones especially so. Many years ago I made a small Bear Paw wall hanging and sold it, I've always thought I should like to make a full size quilt using my Kaffe Collective fabrics, I think you may have started me on yet another project!
