Sewing, cutting, bird watching...........

I showed 4 of these blocks that I made shortly after getting the Wonky Heart die for my die cutter.  I cut 12 more blocks yesterday and got them sewn last night.  They are only 6" finished and I only have a little more of the bright kitty print so I'll have to figure out what I can do to make the quilt bigger than 24" square.  I have enough of the black print to make quite a few more blocks so I really just need to find another bright print I like with these.  I'm thinking a dotted fabric might be the answer.  The other option is 2 borders.
I cut one block with another new die, Hattie's Choice.  This may just be an orphan block or part of a new scrap quilt.  This is not an immediate project.  Many other important things to work on.  A friend is coming over today to sew and I will probably do the layout with my batiks stars.  I will have to build it sideways on the double design wall because it is way too big to do it the other way.

I saw a big bird in my neighbor's tree and used my telephoto lens to try to get a good photo.  Unfortunately it is a little blurry but now I know it was a hawk.  The funny part is 2 squirrels were eating bird seed under the feeders and didn't notice it.  Then I saw it take off and one of the squirrels jumped on the closest tree and flattened himself against the trunk.  I don't think he moved for almost a full minute.

I like that Hattie's Choice block, you sure pieced those points in the center great I can never get them quite so pointed no matter how I try.
I love watching the birds in the winter

Sharpshinned hawks have yellow legs like that.

You have been keeping busy! I like the lime green corner on the dish cloth! I live next to a metro park and I can now spot a hawk when they are riding the wind looking for a meal. We have big red tail hawks.

I love hearts "wonky" or perfect ! What a great post today Wanda. Designs and fabrics alike.

Oh yah... There's always a hawk lingering around a bird feeder with song birds. They're a song birds enemy.

That new cutting die looks like it is going to be loads of fun! That sample just sparkles.

There are a number of hawks that circle overhead here and occasionally land in our back yard trees. Have fun laying out those batik stars and enjoy your company.
