Another basted................

This is the last colorwash that I basted.  It is the one made from the kit we sold to this session of my Colorwash 360 online class.  I used the same pieces of blue tape to hold down the backings of all 4 of the colorwashes.  I threw the tape away now because I'm not going to be basting anything else for a couple weeks and it wouldn't be good that long.

This is the batik I chose for the back of this one.

My indoor garden is starting to bloom.  This is the palest pink, almost white.

The larger plant here only had one bloom last year.  It is loaded with buds this year.  The small plant had 2 blooms last year and has 4 or 5 buds this year.  You never know what you are going to get.

One branch of this red one has buds.  They bloom quicker if I have them at my east window so I moved all of them over a week ago.  I think I only have 15 cacti plants now.  I had 30 at one time.  I have given a couple to my daughter in law and a few just dried up over the summer.

Your Cacti look so healthy. My surviving one died last winter - I've been meaning to buy another but not seen any for sale. Hope you manage to get all you autumn rubbish swept and cleaned up. That's something I need to do, once we get a good dry day :)

I have two of the Christmas cactus and both have buds but one of the plants all of a sudden last week about half of the plant I discovered had fallen off of the base of the plant! I got some cactus/palm soil and have put the pieces in it to see if it will root - I suspect I watered the plant too much or my daughter did while I was gone :)

I haven't come across any Christmas cactus to buy, so I will have to enjoy yours. I did pick up some leaves that had fallen off the succulents onto the floor at one the home improvement stores (no I did not shake the plants or pick the leaves ! LOL!!!) and stuck them in some dirt. Two of the leaves have rooted and are growing! I must have stuck at least 5 in the pot so having two root is pretty good! They are not as pretty as the ones you buy but not bad for something that would have been swept up and thrown away.

I've been wondering what about the kit you were selling with your class, it sure is a beauty ! Has anyone in your class duplicated it Like yours ?

I too only had one blossom on my cacti last year, several buds this year and one has blossomed already. But the several of the buds have fallen off now.

Indoor blooms - how wonderful when it is so cold and snowy outside. Your colorwash GLOWS (but you knew that).

My little cactus is preparing to bloom as well. I have a south-facing window, (actually a window seat) that I have set the violets, orchids and this plant in. Had to move them for the blinds installers and noticed the buds on the cactus, violets and the orchids are sending up flower stalks!!! Winter may not be quite so bleak! After all that weather hype about snow... we only got about a 1/2", but the cold, that is another story!
