The last batch of jewel tone 16 patch blocks are done. Now I need to press all 64 of them so I can start designing with them.
The purple blocks are buried in the piles but all jewel tone colors are included.
I mowed the grass yesterday, 55 minutes. The grass was really tall so I had to set my blade higher. Then I went to the hardware store and got 3 more tomato cages and got them put in place.
Prioritize...... a word that of course I had heard before but somehow it hit me that I was not prioritizing. Making lists yes, but important lists in the correct order? No. For May my priority isn't to quilt 3 quilts as I have done for the last 4 months. This month is to prioritize working outside on all of the pleasant days and sew what I can at night on any current project. Quilting will take place on a day too hot to be out, or rainy, or too cold to be comfortable working outside. That probably means the one quilt loaded on the frame may be the only one finished this month and that is OK.

Since covid my prioritize list got thrown out the window. Ughhhh
I need to breathe and refocus
Prioritize -- that's what I need! Let us know how well you do.
I do that same thing when the weather is nice. After all you have to take advantage of nice weather while you can if you do the yard work. I do most of our yard work and have the energy to do it in bits and pieces so that comes first at this time of year - the heat and humidity will be here before you know it and then I know I won't get much done outside.
Like Dawn my priorities have vanished like the wind...all blown away in these worrying times...so far I DID manage to finish tying my SIL's zig-zag quilt--now my shoulders are sore-- so my priority will be things other than sewing today, I guess....
I really like those warm jewel toned 16 patch blocks; I will be interested to see how you set them...My 16-patch blocks look blah to me this morning...I laid them out and they did nothing for me--so I will have to add something or other to them--applique on all that green or some sashings...

The golden blocks are so beautiful! You are going to have a fun time arranging the blocks. Your plan sounds like a great one! I have no idea when I will end up being assigned to a project for the company I work one which throws one more twist into trying to decide what are the most important things that need done first. I with you on the outside work. Getting the yard and flower beds in order are a top priority for me. I have never been home like this in my life; I have worked since I was a kid. I am trying to take advantage of the gift that was given to me. I want to get a bit more of the outside cleaned up before the roofers show up and I finally have a fellow coming to look at my pitiful, dangerous deck so I want to get that area all squared away before he comes next week. Like you, get the yard in good shape for the heat of summer so it will be much easier to take care of. Have a great day!
Love your new blocks! Have fun playing with them. Prioritize? What's that?
Good for you, Wanda! It's a wise choice to prioritize. I feel sure that you may actually accomplish more than you think will. We'll be waiting to see.
Those blocks look so nice. It has been tough to prioritize much of anything lately.
I love your golden fabric pairings. The one in the upper right corner of the photo is beautiful! Priorities sound right on for this time of year!
PRIORITIZE!
That is exactly what is missing from my list, too. And what a simple idea thank you for that spark of brilliance.
Do you use a wool pressing mat? They seem to be all the rage now, lots of chatter but little consensus.
Your jewel tone blocks are so beautiful, I can hardly wait to see them in action.
Still having night mare issues with my iPad. I'm contemplating a new iPad... they're on sale now at Costco now...

Prioritize - GREAT word and thanks for the reminder. With all the out-of-the-norm surrounding us, keeping our priorities straight is so important. Good for you for recognizing it!!
this is one of my very favorite patterns...I could make it all day
I agree on the outside thing...So grateful for spring.
