Third finished quilt in March 2026........

This is another quilt made with mostly 1990s floral fabrics, with a few newer ones worked in.  I also added Kaffe Fassett Spot fabric. It is made of Hourglass blocks with rectangles used as the border.

It is 53" x 64.5".

I bought the 59" wide black and white fabric many years ago.  It was nice to not have to piece a backing.  The quilt has Hobbs 80/20 batting in it.  It was quilted by Robin Diaz.

This finished quilt top is made with all Marcia Derse fabric, from many years of her collections.  There are 70 different fabrics in the quilt top.

After pressing and photographing, I did the staystitching around the perimeter.

It is 63.5" x 80".

I quickly noticed the movement caused by offsetting the pattern by half blocks. Cool!

The MD color progression is just super! And the mixed genres for the hourglasses is inspirational.

Two lovely finishes, Wanda--love that "dotty" fabric with the florals...
45 and rainy here this morning...
I am hoping to get the last of the quilting on JRJ done today; i guess this is turning out to be a jelly roll year so far...
hugs, Julierose

You know how I love florals...:) Awesome finishes. I love Marcia's fabrics for textural components. The florals make me smile. Great job as always, Wanda!

Your floral quilt is stunning ~ it has a beauty that takes my breath away. The beauty of your MD top is so full of precise layers of rectangles all so neatly stacked.

I remember when you paired that backing with the florals top…it’s a nice contrast to the busy top. I am loving the MD top 😃.

I thought I commented earlier but obviously I did not (sigh). I'm plotting one of your "other sixteen patch" quilts staggered as you have. It's stunning. And that floral quilt is just beautiful.

I hate to admit it, but my 90's favorites look kind of vintage now! That's not a judgement of a very pretty quilt, but of my age!
