I finished the 5 blocks I showed in progress yesterday and added them to the one left over from the table runner.
Last night I didn't have anything else lined up to sew, so I made 6 more blocks. I will get them pressed and trimmed today and add them to the other 6. They will all finish at 8".
While I was in the basement doing laundry I decided i needed to get the Marcia Derse fabric blocks up on the design wall. I was a little disappointed with the result. There were 2 blocks left over.
I took out the two lightest blocks and put in the two left over blocks. It was a little better but I knew I wanted to move a few blocks.
I moved most of the darker blocks to the top and bottom with the lighter ones in the middle. I'm still not positive it's the final layout so I didn't start sewing it together yet. As I'm looking at the photos I think I like the second layout better but in person, I like the third layout best.

Interesting how different things look in photos and in person...
the new layout is looking good...;)))
Pouring rain here this morning at 36 degrees--3/4" so far...a lot for us...
I am hoping to start quilting today...feel like the covid shot related symptoms have finally departed...;)))
hugs for a good upcoming week..., Julierose
I always learn something from your choices and changes. Just like Julierose, I find it interesting how different things look in photos vs in person.
I've scrolled up and down to figure out which blocks you changed. I found one, but not the other. I look forward to seeing how you set the new batch of crazies. Is the Marcia D. bin emptied out?
I think this top looks wonderful!
I'm leaning toward the third layout, but it's a close call.
Your Crazy pieced blocks always brighten’s my day…. I love them, so bright and cheerful. Fun to see your three designs with your Marcia Derse blocks .
It just dawned on me that planning the layout of quilt blocks is like doing a jigsaw puzzle, but you don't have the lid to the puzzle box, so you don't know what it should look like when it is done.

with so many pieces cut out you can move really quickly along with the sewing, I never did get to reading blogs yesterday and trying to catch up today.
