Second quilt finish for March 2026..............

This one has just been called Kaffe Strippy 2 since I started working on it.  You can see Kaffe Strippy 1 here.  I need to make a collage of them side by side since the strips run in opposite directions on the 2 quilts.

This one is 47.5" x 71".  It has Hobbs 80/20 batting in it and it was longarm quilted by Robin Diaz.

The backing is leftover strips from other backings.  I was so happy to find three that looked nice together.

The binding is a zigzag print that worked well with both sides of the quilt.

Neither of the Strippy quilts were planned.  I was merely trying to use up 1.5"and 2.5" strips that were cut many years ago.  I might have cut a few new strips so I would have enough blocks to make a nice size quilt.

All of the strips are Kaffe collective fabrics, that is Kaffe Fassett, Philip Jacobs and Brandon Mably.

Yesterday we got up to 71 degrees and broke the previous record in Chicago.  Today severe storms are headed this way.  We are in the large hail area, south of us is in the tornado area.  I hope the storms weaken before they get here.

I enjoy seeing how you mix and match all these KF prints so seamlessly;))) The 3 backing strips are really pretty together., too.
JRJ is finally a flimsy--I have to locate backing pieces for it..it looks kind of "modern"-- so it will be interesting searching out fabrics that go with it...
35 here early this morning--temps still dropping off at night but it got up to 70 yesterday--felt like "Spring". Waiting for the "other"
shoe to drop:)))hugs, Julierose

Scrap fusion! I like the way the vertical inserts break up the horizontal-ness.

LOVE this quilt. The zig zag binding is absolutely perfect. I am committed to finishing the projects that are underway (gift quilts and the Macnas series) but I am also so ready to play and a quilt like your strippy sounds so good.

I hope you didn’t get hail. It can be so damaging :( oh yes, we definitely need to see the two quilts side by side….they are both so fun.
