When I cut strips for the Marcia Derse fabric 16 patch last year, I cut an extra strip from several of the fabrics.
Last night during TV time I sewed 19 pairs together.
There are 11 more sets paired ready to sew. I'm not sure if I'm going to make another 16 patch or do the "other 16 patch" which is 16 rectangles in a block. I have enough here for 60 blocks but would need 63 for the smallest size I would want to make. There are 60 unique fabrics so I need to search for a few more that haven't been used yet.
I have another quilt in progress that I'm going to start working on again. I need to do some cutting today.
I was about 30 seconds too late to catch most of the brilliant color at sunset last night. There were several dark clouds in the sky too. I'm still getting used to the fence my neighbor put up. My 2 birdfeeders have a backdrop now.
We got 1.75" of rain with the big storm and another .25" yesterday so 2" total. We didn't have any measurable rain last month so this was needed.

Yummy fabrics! You could change it up and try framed four-patches, or 25-patches. We had a brief spell of sleet yesterday afternoon but by dinnertime the sky had cleared.
Love Marcia Derse! It’s always hard to choose which of her fabrics to buy. One year I got a one-year subscription for her color palette. By the end of the year I had the whole line. So beautiful. They weren’t hand dyed but looked like it. I wish she would bring back some of her discontinued collections.
Always disappointing to see fences go up, especially the solid wood fences that you can’t see through. Houses here are getting so big, yards are getting so small, and mature landscaping is disappearing. I guess they are trying to establish some privacy.
Any change to a window view takes time to adjust to.when we put up our summer umbrella it cuts off quite a bit a bit of our view from two windows but the shade on the deck is lovely. It dropped to 31 degrees this morning after a high yesterday of almost 70!
Those are some stunning fabrics! I am waiting for the contractors to come back and finish my neighbor's front yard renovation. They must have come by to at least look at where they left off because they put up red caution tape between my neighbor and the house next door. I can imagine that the kids next door will be climbing on the big stones and jumping off of them. It is quite interesting to look at across the cul-de-sac.
I also love Marcia Derse fabrics--they are so pricey these days!! And also Momo's lines--so very different from my usual fare--I think my tastes have changed--but my stash stays the same;(((
[A little problem there???] I think some strip cutting is in order...
Anyhoo--it is so dark here this morning -- 48 degrees and --totally fogged in and showery...but the snow is almost gone--except for the big piles on the cul-de-sac.
I plan on getting the JRJ backing sewn this morning and then finish the layering...not my favorite part and the part that I find most frustrating especially when my quilt is larger than the blocking board like this one is......then pin basting which I don't mind...

Beautiful sunset - we live in the land of wood-fenced yards (most of the subdivisions restrict any kind of chain link fencing). Our only complaint is that too many let their fences get in really awful shape before they are replaced. We're also grateful for our fence because 3 of the connecting yards (out of 5) have dogs who are best kept at home.
Nice ‘pairings’ you showed today along with your sunset….As the old saying goes “Fences make good neighbor’s”
I'll enjoy seeing how you choose to use these glorious strips!
Cold wind and rain with dropping temperatures that may become snow this afternoon. Yesterday was 86*F.
Hugs!
always so many nice fabrics at your house. We need more rain here still also
