It was time to prep two more quilts to be sent out for quilting. This quilt top is only 53.5" wide so this 58" black and white fabric is sufficient for the back. It was nice to not have to piece a backing.
I had already searched through the Wishwell Weather Report fabric and found 2 pieces that would work for the back. The apricot is full width and the green is about 14" wide for this backing. Batting was cut for both quilts and then I turned on the iron and pressed the 2 backings.
I knew I had already cut the black strips that will border all of the placemats. It didn't take long to find it and I think I have enough cut for all of the projects. Now I just need to get busy.

Great progress on the quilts! There will be a quilt show nust up a ways from me & although I luv going every time ,I get most excited over how many new scraps I come home with 🤣
Great to have everything prepped in order to get sewing--that is half the battle for sure!!
Just 32 here this morning with gray skies...no rain as yet, but predicted through Friday...I have the first sets of 3 rows each together on my JRJ and plan to do another today--slow going with my sore shoulders and UTW feeling...but I am still moving forward;))))
hugs, Julierose
I think I see Cranston on the black/white backing. I've had a couple of pieces of wide-width Cranston prints over the years. Not the weight we associate with home dec but definitely the width. How do you decide which quilts to send out and which you'll quilt yourself?
