I made some decisions since my last post on this flannel quilt. I took out the darkest of the rectangles in the border but didn't have enough medium values already cut. Instead I took the stack of squares that were in the box and sewed some pairs together and inserted them between each set of 2 rectangles. I finalized the design after sewing 2 more blocks and got the top half sewn together and part of the bottom sewn after I took this photo (which is missing the bottom row of rectangles and squares in the photo).
A third bud appeared on the Amaryllis so I have 3 blooms on the second stalk. I have a few buds on more of my cacti and one started opening yesterday, another of the white with pink edges.
While I was in the basement I pulled some fun Philip Jacobs and Brandon Mably prints. No plan for them, just playing with my stash.

I have always loved the fish prints!
What a great idea to add the pairs! The prints you are playing with are so pretty!
Flannel quilt is looking great, Wanda;)) you got a lot done...
25 here and gray skies again...so far no rain/snow/mix or anything--perhaps it's going north of us...enjoy your stash play...

I like your flannel quilt SO much. It feels comforting.
I see a rich and creamy chocolate heaven ~ with this flannel top ! I love it ! And that stack of prints you’re playing with is awesome. Prints are so crisp and clear ~ exciting to say the least. And your Amaryllis blossom is so elegant.
nice looking browns in that flannel. The fun pieces in the final photo are so cheerful. I am surprised you still have an amaryllis.
Really like the updated border on the flannel quilt - very good decision on your part. Hooray for the amaryllis blooms - such a pretty combination with that tiny edging color.
