Trimmed, binding, little squares................

The brown fabrics are so neat on their shelf.  That is because I took them all off and sorted them while looking for another choice for binding.  I didn't find any but I like the neatened up shelf.

I got the neutral 16 patch quilt trimmed and confirmed that the gray will be the binding.  I wish I would have found a piece of medium brown but none of the pieces that matched the quilt had enough yardage.

Last night I sorted the 2" squares of Christmas fabrics that were rotary cut over 20 years ago.  I am planning on making a table runner or two.

Here are some table pieces I have made in the past with the same group of squares.  I like the one with the red/green border so maybe that will be the first one that I recreate.

Wow, those squares were cut over 20 years ago. That gives me hope that some of the squares I have cut and stored for at least seven years will get used eventually :). I can see where a medium brown would have been nice for the binding.

Wow, a 20 year old assortment of 2" squares! This will be fun to watch. Do you still trim down scraps to 2" squares? I've started doing this, but I don't have any one theme like Christmas fabrics.

Great table runners you made!! I love working with squares of fabrics...looks like you have a good amount of Christmassy ones to work with!!
41 here under cloudy skies once again...I was going to go grocery shopping this morning, but still not up to it!! This cold/virus just won't let go it seems!! Hugs, Julierose

The neutral sixteen patch is beautiful - and so is that neat stack of fabrics on your shelf. Have fun playing with the Christmas fabric squares!

The Christmas squares have such potential! I can imagine a Trip Around the World arrangement......

I agree what a neat and tidy shelf of fabrics and books above too. And it tickles me when you select what I would have for a binding on your 16 patch neutrals. And what a wonderful array of Christmas squares to create with ~ timeless from 20 years ago.

A neat stack of fabric is always a welcomed sight. I am going to have to deal with my fabric storage room; it needs some serious straightening out. It will be a lot of fun playing with those Christmas fabrics!

Your binding choice is a nice segue to the lightish backing. :)

How nice to have the binding decision made and turn your thoughts to what's next! Don't you sometimes wish a fabric you loved from long ago and that has been used up was available again as it would be perfect for the current quilt or binding?
Love the wee Christmas squares and look forward to seeing what you'll make with them.
Your brown fabrics look wonderfully neat!

Hugs!

that is a lot of squares from 20 years or so ago and all ready to sew. The brown fabrics look so neat - I'm making a mess here lately and will need to spend a day neatening things up one day.
