No progress...............

I didn't get around to sewing the floral star top, just not interested in doing it yesterday.  So here is a lot of miscellaneous.

This is the leftover block that didn't get used in the layout.  It will go into the orphan block box most likely.

I was cleaning off the dining room table so my birthday cards were gathered up.

My orange cactus is starting to bloom as most of the others are done.  I'm happy this one waited a while.

I baked Aunt Ethel's Kringlas last night.  I had to test them, over and over.  I think I ate 3 of them and pronounce them delicious.

pretty orphan...too bad it's left behind...one of the best things about christmas is the traditions that comfort us

The Kringlas look so yummy!! I totally understand that you had to test them "thoroughly" hahaha ;)))
44 here and I still am fighting this head cold--[hoping that is what I have and not covid--sent for free new tests this morning just in case...]
I am still stuck in that "no mojo" state for sewing...this too shall pass...
I hope your Sunday is a good one...hugs, Julierose

That pretty block is going to be the star of the show in the orphan box! I've never had a Kringlas, gosh it looks delicious. I just Googled the recipe, and it sounds a bit like my Granny's sugar cookie recipe, without all the sugar - yum! Do you put any spices in yours - cinnamon or nutmeg?

Beautiful orange blooms. Glad your Kringlas are delicious…..one must ensure the deliciousness by thoroughly tasting ;-)

Quality control is important in all creative activities. Maybe put the orphan block on the back of the floral stars quilt?

LOL I tend to "test" cookies too much as well. Sometimes we are just not in the sewing mood. For many years I seem to have been obsessed with progress on quilts and it is like it was all I did. Now I see I have so many quilts stacked up here and there that I am not so obsessed with it anymore and have very much been in a reading mood for months now

Cookie tasting is just as important as the baking of cookies (grin). Hooray for another blooming cactus - my second plant is finally starting to set buds so I'll have blooms to follow the currently flowering cactus, which makes me very happy.

“No progress” day was a fun post today and all but a ‘no progress’ day to me. Just posting this and baking cookies plus cleaning off a table… sounds like a very productive day to me. Even take another day of rest today and read all day.

I always think of you and Kringlas together. I’m pleased to hear that you were so thorough and diligent in your taste testing!
