This is my stash of Kaffe yarn dyed woven stripes that I started collecting in the mid-1990s. They have been discontinued for several years and next February four of the styles of stripes, each in several colors, are being re-issued. My stash has diminished some since I took this photo in 2022 because I made 4 quilt tops with them and have a 5th partially cut out. I won't need to buy any of the new stripes since I still have a decent amount of the originals.
I didn't take any photos yesterday but I accomplished a lot. I turned on the iron and pressed the 2 Christmas table runner tops and a fabric for the back. Then I ironed 3 small backings for a colorwash wall hanging and 2 baby quilts. I layered the colorwash piece on one of my cutting tables and will start basting it soon. I also pressed the gray batik for the binding of the neutral batik 16 patch and cut the strips.
Last night I sewed 24 of the 9 patches for another Christmas table runner. I have one more set left to sew and then I'll get all of those blocks pressed and I can start figuring out the layout. Today I need to start baking cookies for Christmas packages.

that's a lot of ironing, Wanda!! Good that you got it done. Those KF stripes are just beautiful all stacked together!! I am especially drawn to the "pastel-looking" ones...beautiful!!
Only 26 here this early morning...at least the winds have died down...Hugs, Julierose
aaah drool worthy...love kaffe stripes...i had a fair stack but alas sold them to fund a vacation...glad to hear some are coming back...
Those fabrics look like a painting! Ironing sounds like fun to me, I've always loved it.
What a wonderful collection of stripes!
Yesterday was a good day for pressing - it's been cold lately, so at least the heat from the iron helps heat the house instead of making the AC work harder like happens in July-August.
Pretty stripes - yet another category of fabrics I don't have a lot of in the stash. I see them in store and think "pretty - but how would I use them?" and leave them behind.
Whew ~ what a busy day you had yesterday and baking today. Your work days are always so filled with fun and creativity. I’ve never seen such a beautiful stash of stripes, all stacked so neat and tidy.
what pretty stripes in that photo - you will make something pretty out of them. How large are those pieces and I wonder what you will make out of them. Have fun baking, I don't mail any baked goods and cutting way back on baking this year - for mainly two people most of the time here we do not need it. There will be some of course but hopefully not as much as I have made some years
You have a gorgeous assortment of Kaffe stripes! It's really impressive seeing them all together.
You've certainly been busy and have lots to show for it!
Enjoy the baking (and sampling) and again, I wish I had energy like yours!
Hugs!
I’m just starting my Christmas baking too. And since all the zip ouches for gifting are done, I get to start quilting some kid donation quilts as well. As for the Kaffe stripes, I can appreciate their beauty and utility, but I’ve never cared for shot fabrics or been able to use them well.
