Nothing accomplished...........

I sat in my computer chair and ate Mint Meltaways and played Spider Solitaire all day.....and if you believe that you don't really know me very well.  It was a lazy day though; I had a hard time getting motivated to do anything.  I think the weather has a lot to do with it.  We got an inch of rain with an all day Wednesday rain and it is only going to be in the mid 20s today and then back to the 40s and 50s on the weekend.  Too many weather fronts for me. I did do a load of laundry and paid bills so the day wasn't a total loss.

I took inventory of the Kaffe orphan block box.  There are a lot of 4 patches not in this photo but they would be fillers if I made another quilt.  There aren't enough blocks that look good together.   You might remember I made a Kaffe orphan block quilt in 2021.  That used all of the pink/red/blue blocks.

I have had this book laying on my sewing cabinet for several months.  I want to make the cover quilt but not right now so the book went back onto the bookshelf.

I'm trying to convince myself to load a quilt on the longarm so maybe today will be the day.

I usually am in that rut from November through December. I feel for you. Hope your sunshine comes back soon. Take care. ;^)

I have days like that - at the end of day I think just what did I do today beside read. I get in such a rut when it is cloudy/rainy/cold. A person could still take a walk outside and put on rain/snow gear I know some do but instead I sit inside and day dream and read.

Weather definitely affects my energy level. I suspect you will hit your pace again soon. The book looks interesting.

We had an ice storm yesterday, so I went nowhere. Today it is not melting as it is 22. But the sun came out. Still not going anywhere, so maybe more longarm quilting in the basement. I have some Karla Alexander books and templates- I wish I could find someone who wanted them. I did make some quilts from them, but now I am done.

A day of eating mint meltaways is never a bad day! Too bad your weather is so awful. Here is was 66 and sunny. The wind was pretty fierce in the afternoon, but that did not keep me inside ad you will find out when you read my post for today. Right now it is 28 and sunny. We had some snowflakes this morning, but nothing to get excited about. Hopefully some sunshine comes your way even if it is still cold outside.

LOL ~ at your first sentence today …. I know you and you are the most productive friend I have. Nothing wrong with taking it slow for a day. You needed to recharge, and if you don’t get a quilt to your long arm today ~ so be it !

Its been long unusual winter season for most of us ‘up north’. And I’m so ready for spring when our first snow was in October and several Arctic fronts moving in throughout the winter. . . We’re supposed to get above 10 degrees today. Yay ~

Well done in taking a ME day and, oh, those Mint Melt-aways!

At Christmas we discovered a wonderful peppermint candy made by Red Bird and called Peppermint Puffs. They just melt in your mouth and are available on Amazon.

Hugs!

We are getting your weather tomorrow and I'm hoping for a long sewing and quilting day. I have the Color Shuffle book too and really like several of the quilts in it.

Ha! I used to LOVE the meltaways from that store in Chicago. Was it Marshall’s??? I can spend too much time with Spider too, but it’s a great distraction while waiting for appointments. I seldom play at home. I think the weather affects my productivity too. All this cold and rain is a drain on my spirit this year. The moisture is great, but I need a break from it.

I get what you say about the weather, especially when it's so changeable. We all need to take a lazy day break now and again.Good luck with loading up the longarm.
