Since my other finish this month was from 12 years ago I decided to dig deep into the box of works in progress for another oldie. This one is from 10 years ago. I planned the layout back then and had had the rows clipped together and numbered so all I had to do was sew it together. It still needs pressing and that is a pain with the bulk where the points meet from block to block. It's going to be pretty chilly here tomorrow and I haven't turned the heat on yet so pressing might be a joy after all.
If you like to search the history, here is where I posted about this last. I see I had more blocks in that post than in this quilt so I guess I'll look for the rest of them.
The block is Winding Ways and a friend cut the pieces for me on her die cutter the year before I bought my Studio die cutter.
The hand dyed fabrics are a combination of all of the ones I had purchased from 1993 to 2010.
Here is a nature photo to match the quilt top. The asters are in full bloom in two colors.

Winding Ways has such lovely hand dyes in it...they really add a lot to the pattern with the colors winding in and out on all the parts...
Pretty asters...hugs, Julierose
Oh, glad you finished it, it’s beautiful!
Winding Ways is looking good. Do you have a special technique for handling the bulky intersection?
That was quite a find to have those blocks ready to be sewn together! That will be one more to add to this month's total since tomorrow is the last day of September! Yikes it is going fast! The flowers are gorgeous! My lavender is still blooming and the marigolds are still gowning like crazy. Since we got a nice rain last evening - over 1/2" - and the sun is shinning now, the little bit I have that is still in flower ought to look good. I will have to take some pictures tonight.
When I looked up your link, it goes back to 2010, which I why I did not see this quilt- I started reading your blog in October of 2011. I love the rich saturation in the quilt. I always wanted to make one of these because of the resultant circles that happen.
Beautiful job.
Glad you found it and finished it. I have always loved this pattern and the hand dyed fabrics are fantastic! Love your asters.
This was a good find! The hand dyed effects are beautiful.
I've got fabrics collected for a Winding Ways. Way down at the bottom of my To Make list. Congrats on getting those blocks sew into a top! It's going to be a gorgeous quilt.
I just LOVE this quilt! I can't believe you waited so long to finish it!
Really pretty Winding Ways and you're right - that flowers shot is perfect for a match.
OMG Wanda ~ This is truly an Autumn stunner ! I too can not believe its been on hold for so long either. I see beautiful crisp petal blossoms with lots of bubbles floating among the garden with them. Those bubbles are mesmerizing, they bounce around from dark to light.

As the owner of a few UFOs that I haven't finished for no good reason except perhaps I became distracted or bored or who knows, it does my heart good to see you pulling the occasional UFO out of the box and finishing them up. Thank you for the inspiration to finish up a few of my own.
I really love this one. The fabrics are luscious.
How lovely! Glad you pulled it out and are going to finish it!
Amazing quilt. The arrangement is quite striking. The circles are really obvious.
WOW!!! What color - what movement…….excellent!
