And then I have to put it all away...........

It's lots of fun to pull the fabrics that will go into a colorwash kit but then it has to all be put away again.  I have learned to neatly fold the fabric after cutting so that saves one step when taking it back to its residence.

There is still time to sign up for my Colorwash 360 online class here.  Enrollment ends on Friday night at 10 EDT.  The 40 day live part of the class starts on Sept. 21 and ends on Oct. 31.

I mowed the grass for the first time in 5 weeks.  There were still a few brown dry areas but there was lots of new green grass which had gotten quite tall.  The 4" total of rain that we got over a week's time is still a deficit from the average rainfall.

My new garage door opener is installed and the opener buttons in my van won't work with the new one.  My van is 16 years old, doesn't have its first dent and only has 71000 miles on it.  I won't be getting a new vehicle so I have to have a separate opener in my van at all times now.

I only had 1 car that had the electronic garage door button that I was able to pair with a garage door, and it took forever to make that happen. Since then either the car has been too old, or the garage door opener has been too old... and now I have just given up!!! The technology is outpacing the devices!

that's a lot of prep and putting-away work .
We love our door opener--we have a remote in our cars --so nice not to have to get out and wrestle with a heavy door...
Cold here this morning 47 degrees at 7 a.m. Knock-knock-Autumn dropping in for a preview;))) hugs, Julierose

We have a button in each car for the opener, but on one car you have to be practically hitting the door to get it to open! They are not fun to program either, but still worth it.

That is a beautiful pile of fabric! I didn't know that there was such a thing of having a garage door button in a car. I got a new opener a few years ago and made sure I got two openers. I keep one in the car and use the other one when I go for a walk. Also, when I go to sell the house more than likely it will be to a family and they will have two cars.

You are so right about putting fabric away. It's so easy to pull one out to just check. A lot more hassle to put away. I have a stack of 30's repro fabrics waiting to go back. Glad you finally got some rain.

But even putting away is still fabric fondling - that's what I tell myself anyway.

I often wish I could do a Mary Poppins and snap my fingers. But hey ho, a place for everything . . .
