More flowers...........

I'm still working on the preemie layettes so no sewing photos.

The Zinnias are finally filling in.  The shaggy variety has started blooming.  Some of the plants are only about 8" tall and others are more like 18".
This is an example of how the camera reads color.  Look at the difference between the photo above and this one, taken just a few seconds apart.  I think maybe the sun went behind a cloud but I think it is the majenta that threw the green color off.
I like all of the different shapes of zinnia blooms.

In the back garden the Coreopsis is starting to bloom again, mixed in with the Dianthus.

I've loved seeing all the photo's you've posted this year of your garden, so much colour and variety - makes me wish I'd made an effort and bought something new for mine, to fill in the empty spots. I've had lots of regrowth from my yearly plants and my Clematis did really well. We are off to Scotland for 4 days this weekend and I'm going to look for a plant to buy, as a souvenir :)

Aren't the August bloom colors just so saturated with color? Something is eating my zinnia leaves all up. I love when there is reblooming- such a color bonus!

I love zinnias and maybe next year I will plant some. Many years ago, I dug up a large bare patch by my front door and planted a large bag of zinnia seeds, not ever planting anything with seeds before. God smiled on that patch and I was the envy of my neighbors because they bloomed in every color under the rainbow all season long. Your zinnias are so pretty.

The zinnias are so pretty. Since I added Preen and more sweet peat I didn't have any come up this year except I have one outside the bed growing. I will have to be careful when I weed wack that I don't cut it down.

I love your sewing the premie layette sets--I would think that would be huge fun to get together and sew those. Nice garden colors.

Beautiful colors, especially the oranges in the first picture. I recently took pictures of my flowers too - I just love all the bright colors in the yard.

I wonder if Philip Jacobs has ever done a zinnia design on fabric - great possibilities I think!

I couldn't help but notice the precision of the zinnia blossoms, each petal in order, are so much like your quilt tops you design. Each of your pieces are so perfectly in place. And like that of your zinnias, your quilts open up into a gorgeous blossom.

I love zinnias. The different kids are so interesting.

I love the raggedy Zinnias the best, but yes, variety is so much fun with Zinnias.
