Last night I took all of the new improv blocks from the quilt along and the older blocks from over a year ago and put them all up on my double design wall. This space is 96" wide and 83" tall so it looks like the blocks take up about a 60" square area. I didn't do any planning here, just plopped them up there to see approximately what size quilt I could make with them. I have some other commitments and won't have time to play with this again for awhile. I might make some more blocks now and then before making any decisions on how to sew them together.
Debbie at A Quilter's Table blog hosted the quilt along and on this post she shows her blocks in several layouts as well as sewn together. At the end of the post is a link to the Instagram page where a lot of people have posted their blocks and layouts if you are interested in seeing more.

Beautiful blocks! I have been trying to follow, but the wifi in the Adirondacks this week is spotty and unreliable. I love the colors.
My blocks turned out to fill an area approx. 42" square - not my normally preferred shape. I've enjoyed watching how others mix their colors and lay out their segments. Glad you are going to let your gathering sit a bit and wait.
Your stripes are looking good! I will be really interested to see how you decide to lay them out when you get to that point.
What wonderful color!
It appears this sew along was right up your alley Wanda! How perfect for you to be able to use up your previously sewn strip sets!
I can see you are having fun with all your strips and even more strips.... from mug rugs to a nice big top to quilt.
Your dianthus gets top billing along with your cleaning up one of your gardens. What a difference some weeding will do.

Yours looks fabulous. I love the colors you use. I also like the different sizes of your blocks. I wish I understood how you could sew something like that together!
Your improv blocks are really nice. I saw Debbie's post the other day and now yours. I am trying to use up some scrap bins and this kind of project might just fit the bill. I love the variety of colors in your group of blocks and look forward to seeing what you do with them.
I would love to play with that pile of blocks you have there and try adding some black strips in big sizes, or grey and see what that looks like. Guess I will have to sew some and see how that works.
Love your colours in these strips, especially the turquoise/aqua strips in some of the blocks.
I really like this idea--such neat colors waving under cloudy skies
