Today I teach the second group of ladies how to make Strip Pieced Kaleidoscope. I usually make up some strip sets when I am teaching so I have something to demo the cutting on. This one will be a scrappy looking yellow to red wallhanging.
We missed out on the big storms yesterday morning. Up north of us they had lots of trees down, heavy rain and hail. We had nothing until last evening and even then it was only wind and moderate rain. We were lucky. My garden is still safe. I need to get out and take pictures and document which plants I have where and which ones need dividing because they are getting too big.
My neighbor across the street always has a big garage sale the last weekend in June. Her kids come down from Wisconsin and set up all of the tables and handle the sale. This year I need to open my doors the same days and see how much of my parents things I can sell along with some of my own. I have to teach a class at 1 on Friday so I'll only be able to be open from 8-12:30. The mornings are the best anyway.

I love the color choices on your new kaleidoscope block. Just bright and beautiful! Garage sales can be fun, but are certainly a lot of work. Hopefully you will be successful. I know that sometimes they are hit or miss, having done several myself.
I like the colors for your new project. Glad the storms missed you. I don't have garage sales I live in the country and just do not get enough traffic to have success at one. I always bring mine to Goodwill type of places.

I like your color run, and really love that dark red fabric. We've had some storms here -- huddled in the basement during a tornado warning last night. One was spotted heading straight for UI campus, but it fizzled at the last moment, thank goodness!

I can see that ruler is magical for making the kaleidoscope piece. Your yellow and red selections just sparkle.
I wondered if you got hit with that storm. Watched the national weather news and it look like you were right in the path of it. So glad it by-passed you.

I have so much junk I need to get rid of! The bottom of my stairs has boxes of old toys of my son's stacked to the ceiling (no exaggeration). If I ever get to go through them so we can keep a few select treasures, I'll be able to call Amvets to take away the bulk. Hope you carve away some space for yourself at your garage sale.
The storms have missed us too. I think they are going thru right between us. Thank goodness for us but not so good for other people.

Good luck with the garage sale - you are so right about the mornings being better for actual sales. We used to participate in the annual neighborhood sale when we lived in IN, but here our house is up a slight hill and no one wants to walk up the driveway.

Love the reds and yellows...very pretty. Garage sales are fun, will you have time to pack up and get to the shop for class? Maybe there would be an older neighborhood kid who could man it while you are gone.

I always LOVE how the measured strips line up so perfectly and how ladies think it was going to be toooo hard! Lovely colors - you certainly have courage with colors and I think THAT'S what makes your projects so gorgeous!!!
Lucky you! We were right in the middle of the storms... and had a confirmed tornado touchdown 10 miles away, and a funnel cloud practically on top of the house! I am so thankful that one never touched down! Isn't it amazing, the difference about 40 miles makes? ~ Jennie
