All wrapped up
Here are all 12 towels ready to put in the Advent bags. Mine are for the 17th day. As a child I had never heard of Advent calendars. Later I learned about the gift for each of the days starting with Dec. first and going until Christmas day. A lot of our church members each signed up for a different day and wrote down what they would be getting. Some of the items are greeting cards, pen and pencils, paper plates and matching napkins, applesauce, snack crackers, etc.

this is a wonderful idea. i'm going to tell my mom about this. i think this is something our church should do.
What a nice way to celebrate the season of giving. I'm sure every recipient is very appreciative.

Your packages look so cheerful, and you are done ahead of time. If it were me doing this I would be up the night before they were due, tearing my hair out (they don't call it a "deadline" for nothing).
We never had an Advent Calendar growing up, and I don't remember any of my friends having one; it wasn't until I was an adult that I found out other people had this fun tradition.

Your little parcels look good enough to eat! I had never heard of an Advent Calendar either, but I think it is a nice idea to count down the days until Christmas.
We didn't do this either. How does your church decide who gets them?
For thirty years my best friend and I have exchanged advent calenders with a little parcel and a note for the 24 days up till Christmas - and we so look forward to it each year. Nothing to do with church.
As a child my sister and I had one from our mother. I got you out of bed more easily on those dark winter days.
When our boys were teeny, I embroidered a felt wreath and a set of 25 miniature felt ornaments ~ each day, they chose an ornament to hang on the wreath... but they had to save the baby in the manger for last ~ because the 25th was his birthday. Still have the wreath and the ornaments.
Love the way your church involves so many in the sharing of gifts ~ I'm sure many look forward to participating. Just lovely.
That's a great tradition, I'd never heard of that before. I love how the towels came out, they look great!
Very prettily wrapped. We have Advent Calendars over here & in NZ. They are really for excited children, & have a chocolate or a sweet under each day's date. When I was a child we had the calendars too, but there was just a coloured picture under each day. We still enjoyed them, though.
