I sewed triangle squares for three hours last night and only have enough for 8 of the 20 blocks. There are 16 of them in each Bear Paw block. I had enough already sewn for 4 blocks so I have enough for 12 and 3 blocks are already sewn. That means I still need 16 x 5 blocks. There is more cutting in my future.
I also cut parts for the other Aboriginal fabric quilt and laid out one block. I wanted to make a quilt where I can showcase some of the larger prints. The blocks will be 12" finished. I probably won't start sewing them right away. I need to cut all of the large print squares first.

sounds like you need to do more cutting! I need to continue working on this batting to get it out of my way then I can get back to cutting that I need to finish the quilt on the wall.
I love your block with the Aboriginal fabric! I can't wait to see more blocks as you work on this quilt.
What a TERRIFIC way to showcase those aboriginal prints - a most excellent idea!!!
Aboriginal fabric blocks are going to be amazing! Roxanne
I agree ~ showcasing your larger prints is going to be one ‘glamorous’’ quilt top. Todays first block is beautiful, and It’s going to be fun to watch this one grow.
Whew ~ 3 hours of stitching triangles, as usual your dedication is showing.

That aboriginal block is gorgeous! Such a traditional pattern made all new and stunning by the choice of fabric. Bravo, dear girl. Can't wait to see the rest of the blocks as they come along.
Do you make your half square triangles individually or use one of the multiple methods?
Well done on the HSTs!
Your Aboriginal fabrics remind me I have two boxes of Aboriginal fabrics, sent to me by Aussie friends, that have been aging (to perfection) for about 20 years. I need to use them soon.
Hugs!
What a great use of the aboriginal fabrics! If I ever finish my first quilt with them something like this would be a good next project. Plus, my LQS is once again carrying the fabrics and they are gorgeous!
Your cut square of the Aboriginal fabric looks amazing, I love the squiggle making its way down the corner of the block.
