Working on Gridlock.............

I sewed three Gridlock blocks last night.  It took me awhile to find fabrics for this one.

I decided the fabrics in this block were graphic enough that I didn't need to insert any strips.  I can always go back and add strips into the long pieces if I change my mind.

I like this green block.  It was fun to use 2 stripes in the strips next to each other.

I think I need to change the center square in the top right block.  It won't take long to pick out the square and replace it.  I still need to make a gold block and a purple block and then decide if it will be 6 rows or 7 rows long.  I have plenty of fabric cut to make it 7 rows.  That would make it come out around 68" x 92".  The blocks are 12" and there is a row of 4" squares around the perimeter.  6 rows would come out 68" x 80".

I pulled out all 13 tomato plants and stacked the cages.  I have never had so many green tomatoes left on the plants this late and I brought in a couple dozen of them last Sunday before the freeze.  I also emptied a few of my pots.  Today I will empty more pots.

your tomatoes lasted a long time. I was having to water so much this year that I just gave up on them awhile back - we really have not had a lot of rain since mid-July.
Love the blocks - are they all pretty much free form you decide as you go how many pieces of fabric to use in each block - or are you following a pattern

All those blocks are so pretty! My marigolds have finally given up the ghost with the frost last week. I will have to get those pulled out. I did save lots of seeds for next year.

I went back to see the Gridlock beginnings -- the Derse fabrics are great choices for this design.

The blocks are great ... super nice colors. I like this a lot :-)
Yes, looking for the right colors takes a lot of time ... but what a pleasure when you find the right one :-))
Greetings to you. Viola

Pot emptying has begun here as well. The worst ones are gone now - the next batch will go out in next Monday's trash. My Gridlock blocks are right where I left them (6 made). Although with all the other stash stirring that has gone on, I've located four additional pieces that were lurking in resource boxes. They will all be found in blocks yet to come.

In each of yours squares, the middle square shines like a beacon. I love them all.

Every new Grid Lock block makes me smile. This is going to be another of your master pieces .

Enjoy all your tomatoes as they ripen in your house. Have you ever made green fried tomatoes ?

SNOW predicted in the valley for tomorrow morning. Our mountains have been capped with snow for a couple weeks now. Just been waiting to wake up to a snow covered yard.
