Valentines and miscellany...........

My grandma used to collect postcards and when she decided she was done with that she gave them to me, a little girl living on a farm in the middle of nowhere.  This one was in the box.

It was sent to my great-uncle Oliver, a bachelor who lived with his mother, my great-grandmother in Bristol IL.  This one is postmarked 1928 and is from Iowa from 2 of Oliver's brothers.  Somebody pulled the stamp off of this at some point.
In my own mailbox I got the Valentine on the left this year and the one on the right 5 years ago from my friend Linda.  Go here to see how she made this year's cards.

I finally sewed together the wonky heart baby quilt blocks into a quilt top.

Searching through my stash I found this border fabric and I think I will use the numbers fabric on the back.  Binding will probably be the same green as the sashing.

A friend came over Wednesday and we basted her flannel quilt.  I usually use the tape twice so I looked through my tops for another one to baste and I have it half done now.

Winter is back for a few days.  It was 1 degree last night at 11:30.

My Sedum flowers are coneheads again.  This is my driveway before it was plowed and before I shoveled the sidewalk.  I think we got about 4" of snow.

Two Juncos came to visit and eat from this feeder.  The squirrel baffle is a nice conehead too.

my daughter was shoveling snow in some areas along with hubby using the snow blower yesterday and then when she went somewhere to run errands she said she almost went off the road and she has become somewhat of an expert driving on snow - she is tired of it.
love all the quilts

Those old timey Valentine's day cards are so neat; no snow here as yet...it just doesn't feel like a real Winter...hugs, Julierose

Happy Valentine's Day, Wanda,
Love all your posted ideas this morning! Your day-by-day postings are the best and today's is no exception.
It's snowing here in western PA and the birds are bonkers at our feeders. The earlier light each day is a lovely reminder that this winter, too, will be on its way before long.

Loved your post today, Wanda! Happy Valentine's Day! My mother's name was Wanda Lou and today is her birthday!

I ADORE the hearts quilt! Think I might like to make one just like it as keepsake for one of my grandchildren. I can't remember if you've posted any info before on a pattern name, but would love to know.

Thanks dear lady, for all you do to make your fans happy, happy, happy!

Wanda, thanks for the shout out on the card. I love making them. What I need to do is make a heart quilt sometime. I have a Heart Bargello I made years ago for my bed that almost finished me off as I was beginning to be a quilter. But it is not red or pink, but blues and golds.

Happy Valentine's Day -- your heart quilt top turned out great! We have deep cold but thankfully there is also sunshine (we will not break 32degrees today though).

I don't know what happened to my day, but I'm just getting to your post, at 8:00 p.m. And what a treat to see your old keepsake valentines, Fabric Valentine postcard, and Wonky heart baby quilt which is another 'exuberant' colorful quilt for baby. (love the numbered fabric for back) and then the piece you are basting. A most enjoyable post today Wanda.
