My favorite layout and others

This star is my all time favorite layout for Strips that Sizzle and I have made it twice, seen on this post. I used leftover blocks on the one with green in it. If I have enough leftovers this time I'm sure I'll make another of them.

The one below is another similar to one yesterday where you see pinwheels. I can see I have 2 blocks in the wrong position in this one.
The next one has alternating rows of light and dark blocks.

The next one is another of my favorites. This is the same layout as THIS QUILT except I used 3 colors in that one and only 2 in the current one. I really like this one too.

This circle top is finished and it looks much better sewn together. Click on the picture for a better look at the fabrics. A friend decided she should rescue this one and not let a baby spit up on it so I sold it to her and will ship it to her today.
I started this Halloween circle quilt before my art quilters came last week so I would have one ready to show them a no pin method of marking and sewing it. I folded the pieces in half and made a tiny clip out to mark centers and then didn't need pins. I have one more block to sew together and then I can finish it. There are 2 one way fabrics in this and that made it a real challenge to design.Today is the first half of the Strips That Sizzle class. It is going to be so much fun.

How can you choose with so many great ways to display these? I think I like the star the best...but then I look at the others again, and can't choose! I don't think you can go wrong, though...they are all gorgeous!

And I am just in love with the Halloween circles!

Is there a pattern for the star quilt? Absolutely amazing. Love your choice of colors?

Snickerdoodle, I have no way of contacting you unless you enable email in Edit Profile or email me directly. If you look back to the last few days posts you will see that I am playing with Strips That Sizzle blocks, directions from a Margaret J. Miller book of the same name (or DVD now available). The layout is my own but learned through her method.

My vote goes to the star design but any would do. I love your color choice.
What is the name of the templates used in the circle quilts? Would love to try sewing the circles.
Have fun in class- wish I was there with you and your friends.

Excellent layout choice. I liked this one the best. The colors and shapes just flow throughout the piece. Looks great.

Wanda, it certainly looks like you are having way too much fun with the strips! But that is definitely the best part! Thank you for showing us all the possibilities. I love both circle tops they are always wonderful!

The layouts are all beautiful. I like the star a lot too. The 3D effect shows up the best in that one and the 3rd/window layout.

That star is really stunning! I can see why you like it so much.

I love the Halloween circles too. It just looks like fall.

The star is stunning, but I think I like the pinwheels of today's options. I absolutely love the deisgn options with this.

Love that Star - the layout is just mesmerizing!

I wish I still lived in Chicago (born and raised) I so would love to take a class (or actually a few) by you. Your quilts are so beautiful and I am self taught so having someone who knows the proper techniques would cut back on the seam ripping :) I love visiting your site to see what you're working on!

Whenever I open your blog, I wear sunglasses! I just love this pattern. Truly a great quilt.
We have exactly the same weather as you do today here in Dorset, Ontario.

The star layout is stunning. If I had to choose among all those layouts, that would be my very favourite. The colours are absolutely fantastic!!

This quilt is fantastic. I found and purchased Margaret J. Miller's book on-line and can't wait 'til it gets here. Thanks for your inspirational use of color.

Your star just radiates and glows with these colors. Can't wait to see it or will you be selling this one , too?

I love your favorite also. The design compliments your yellow and purple blocks to perfection. All others are great but this one is the BEST.

Was pleased to hear you sold your "circle top" to a friend. It makes a wonderful wall hanging. That strolling panther just makes me smile.

I know your Halloween circle piece will be a wonderful. And will be fun to watch it grow.

These quilt layouts are Wanda Wonderful! I like the Halloween circle layout. What was the problem with the one way design? Did you want all the parts of that fabric to be going the same direction?

I really, really love the star layout. Even that has a 3D effect to it.

Isn't it amazing how many different layouts you can get from just one block?

Hope the class went well, but you really didn't shout loud enough - I couldn't hear you.

So beautiful! I just can't get over how you can lay things out and how different they look! I'm so grateful that you share that with those of us that have no idea!
The circle quilt really turned out nicely and I'm also very glad that it won't be used as a spit-up blankie!!

I LOVE the star; it really grabbed me. But I have to say some of the others would be nice too.
