Sorry, just another journal cover...............
A friend I haven't seen for 4 years is coming to visit Wednesday. Since I don't want her to think I live like I do, I am cleaning my house. I had been working the last week or 2 on deep cleaning areas in the basement that haven't been touched for a couple months (before I knew she was coming). Now I am cleaning the main level. Not too much though. Just enough to get by.
**************
I started this journal cover Sunday night and finished it last night.
The funky block on the front is one I made right after I finished the dot quilt top in Sept. 2006. I made 7 of them but will only use 6 of them on a little wallhanging so I used the extra one here.
I quilted some angle lines on the back to echo the angle lines of piecing on the front.

I have been off from my list schedule because of the stress I went through with my dad's medical problems. I hope I can revise the list and get started again near the end of this week. I am really happy with the progress on all of the things I have worked on while I was following the schedule.

I have no doubt you'll get back to your list, and start churning out your wonderful quilts once again. No doubt at all. In the meantime, you really have made some great journal covers, which I'm sure have inspired many, myself included. More importantly, you've taken some much needed time to process some things for yourself. Which is always a good thing.

Bravo for your cleaning efforts! While I have been sick, I did try to get at some long overdue chores! It's amazing how putting off certain cleaning tasks for days, can quickly turn into weeks or months. Do you notice how those piles of junk never seem to go away by themselves (LOL)?!!!!

How nice to see your friend after 4 years. I am sure you will have a great time. This journal cover is fantastic! So fun! I just love dots and have an extensive collection of them in many color ways.

As far as your schedule, don't fret too much you will get back into the groove.

Your quilts should bring you joy and if they are not right now - wait. Don't rush back because the joy may not be there and you may be distant from your passion. The comfort it gives you will be needed and it will flow naturally,

What fun to see a friend you haven't seen for 4 years! Don't clean too much, otherwise people might try to move in!

That is a fantastic journal cover. Love the dots and the block on the front!
At least after your guest has left, you'll be left with a nice clean home and lots of time for quilts!

The cool think about setting your own schedule is that you can deviate from it when you want/need to. And then you can get back to it when you need/want to. How great is that?

I was vacuuming one time when my kids were young. They looked at me sort of puzzled and asked, "Who's coming over?" Oh, well, at least you'll have a clean house when your friend leaves.
Love your journal cover!

Not just a journal cover, it is beautiful. Yeah, I've been thinking I need to clean out the areas of my house which get neglected - the basement, the garage, and the office are all awful.

oh I love these journal covers, would make me want to keep a journal and maybe even keep track of that list of quilt projects I should have.
I love your idea of a schedule of your quilt time
I may have to try this

Really like this dotty cover!
It sure is stressful, worrying about loved ones health issues. I am in the midst of several, & I cant seem to think, let alone function.

Another enchanting one to add to your happy fun collection for your friend that wants to buy one or two or a few. Believe me it will be very difficult for her to select when you have such a great collection.

Not to fret about getting off schedule. I think you did AMAZING to keep doing what you did accomplish with your Dad's surgery issue.

p.s. Our Fair begins on Wednesday... very much like the Sandwich Fair only 1/3 the size.

Hi Wanda,
Don't apologize -- just do whatever grabs you!
Your brain is calling for a break and you listened.
Love how you create such beauty from "leftovers".

Love the dots! That's a happy one.

Don't clean too much - just remember your friend is coming to see YOU, not your house, right? I didn't even dust the other day when I had company, and boy, did I need to. If anyone noticed, no one said anything! I saved my energy for enjoying the day.

You'll get your groove back soon, I'm sure. Worrying can be so detrimental to your creativity . When you relax, it'll come back.
