Quilted...........

Success again, quilting done.

Again I did the organic straight lines, random spacing.

I used this variegated thread on this quilt.  I think maybe it will work for the next quilt I'm going to finish too.

Every wobble is a step I am taking as I walk sideways while I quilt, moving the machine from end to end and back again, row after row.  I think I have now figured out how to avoid that but this one is very organic.

I bought a batt of this variety to try it out and decided I liked it.  Then I bought a roll of it.  It worked fine in the batik quilt because it was so lightweight and this gave it some heft.  I still have a half roll left so I'm going to have to figure out which other quilts I want to be a little heavier weight.

I got it trimmed last night and then looked for binding.

This is what I ended up choosing.  I'll probably do this binding all by machine.

I think it looks pretty good.  I'll cut it this morning.

Oh, I love the batiks in this quilt. I think it is called Interweave and I remember you made it bigger than the pattern, which helps its use. Great finish!

Lovely quilting lines--so organic!!
Snowing here this morning--and 31 degrees--this was an out-of-the-blue event as our forecast didn't mention any precip at all...everything is so quiet in the snow...very peaceful...
Hugs, Julierose

The print on the binding is organic looking so it fits in perfectly with the quilting. You are having a great January of getting some finishes!

It’s funny how you can call something organic and it is okay. Love your style.

If you buy batting by the roll check out Marshall Dry Goods the next time you purchase. I buy for our veterans quilts and got our Hobbs 80/20 there for a great price. Saved us about half over what we used to pay.

I feel another January finish!

That pattern resurfaced when I went through a box of patterns and printouts. And, funny thing, I mistakenly ordered Warm & Plush (I meant to order Warm & Natural) and used most of it....but yesterday I sorted out the batting-pieces box and found two chunks of W&P. The heft/loft are appealing on this four-degree day!

Thank you for showing the step by step procedure. Since I do not know anything about a quilting machine, this was fascinating to hear you walked with the quilting machine row by row. I too love this quilt, it has a beautiful presence, front and back.

Beautiful quilt and that thread is perfect with it. I like the line quilting too.

As always, the eye candy your quilts provide is so refreshing. I love Warm and Plush, too, and keep my remaining half roll just for personal quilts. Must get me some variegated thread!!
