Finally a little rain............

I checked the temperature yesterday after lunch and it was 91 degrees.  Mid afternoon a storm finally came our way and gave us some rain.  When I checked my rain gauge it was partially under a Milkweed leaf so I'm not sure if my reading is accurate but it had a quarter inch of rain in it.  We have a slight chance of rain late today.  The humidity is supposed to drop late Sunday and all the way through Thursday.....we can only hope they are right.  Back to the 90s again at the end of next week.  I'm hoping this trend will change and it will be an enjoyable summer.

I decided on this darker Kaffe stripe for the insert strips and it will also be the binding.  I found a second piece of it so now I know I have enough for both.  Now I just need the energy to cut it.

I've been taking quick daily peeks at your progresses the past week. You seem to be having the same weather conditions as me but at least I can get my hose pipe out for the plants that need it. My small Clematis are starting to fade but my Fuchsia's have lots of buds getting ready to open. De-cluttering and cleaning has been my weekly chore, so it's nice to see all you've been getting up to. Hope you have a nice 'cool' weekend of crafting :)

Very pretty KF striped fabric--glad you found enough for your plan...

We haven't had a drop of rain as yet--so dry we are getting ant hills all over our yard....ugh!! Hoping for rain today--it is overcast...

In the high 90s here with a predicted heat index of 110. So much humidity … summer is here.

Happy to see you chose the darker stripe fabric. Your Hydrangea is way ahead of mine. Maybe its as all that humidity that your plants must love.

We had 3.5 inches of rain between Thursday and this morning. No need to water the garden this week!

How lucky to have 2 pieces of the dark stripe; its great with your pieces so far.

after all the heat you need whatever rain you can get right now. At home we had so much rain and then the heat arrived and within days I had to start to water plants on the porch - I set things up for water to the garden for Melanie to take care of while we are gone if the heat keeps up I told her the garden will need to be watered by Monday or Tuesday
