Saturday sewing...............

I finally stuck with it and got the insert strips sewn on and then designed the second border and got both of them sewn on too.  I couldn't get it high enough up on the wall to get the bottom edge off the floor.  I don't do stepstools or ladders especially when it would mean over reaching or moving the stool at least twice.  I need to move some things off the wall in the basement and get a better straight on shot.  It measures 60" x 85" now.   The binding will be the dark stripe too.

I could see the Asiatic Lily bloom from the kitchen window so I got out before dark to get a photo.  The other yellow flowers are the Evening Primrose.

We got just a trace of rain yesterday afternoon.  A town 25 miles from us got 1 and 1/2".  That is how spotty the rain has been.

Bravo Wanda! The quilt pattern, and your color placement sure does carry the eye! Thank you for sharing!

All those colours look wonderful together - looking forward to seeing the end result. Your Lily's are a beautiful yellow. I have a dark pink Lily with buds which makes me so happy, as the last 2 years the buds got eaten by red lily beetles. I caught the pair (too late) and hopefully that's the last of them, but I'll always be on the lookout! My wild purple Geraniums look good and my Campanula are self-seeded all around the garden and starting to flower, but this winter they need a good culling as there are too many now. It's a little cooler today and I'm taking it easy after a week of cleaning/de-cluttering. Happy Sunday sewing to you :)

This is beautiful, Wanda! So much to study. I really like how you are using the striped fabric. This gives me inspiration to use a striped fabric I have hoarded for years. Your lilies are lovely. We had over 2” of rain yesterday/last night (other towns next to us received 3-4.5”) and expect more every day this week. I think it keeps the temps nice, my husband thinks it raises the humidity too much. Wish we could share the water with other places in dire need.

Just lovely lily yellow--[I find it hard to get what I call "nice yellows" that are not screaming at me...]. sitting inside as the lawn mower brigade (which surrounds us as we sit at the end of a cul-de-sac, is in full force.
I was able to hand quilt two more lines on "Early Spring" this morning early...
hugs, Julierose

Yummy lily color! The new quilt top is looking great, I like the inserts and borders only at thop and bottom.

It's good to know your limits on step stools and ladders - MIL fell off a ladder (not from very high either) trying to reach that last couple of inches while painting. I don't recall if she was home alone when it happened or if FIL was home. Broke her shoulder and after it healed, could not raise her arm over her head. I guess being afraid of heights has its advantages - keeps me from being too cocky about my balance even when standing on the bottom step or rung.

Well done - and good for you for setting limits (on step stools/ladders) and sticking to them!

The quilt top turned out beautiful. The lily is so pretty. I can tell the deer have been by eating the lily buds off of my orange roadside lilies. They at least only seem to eat the ones nearest to the front so at least the ones in the back get to flower.

It looks wonderful, Wanda. I don’t do ladders, chairs, etc. anymore either.
